The time my cat [thought that she] saved my life (very brief seizure description)

Just wanted to share a sweet little story with y'all today about my aspiring emergency responder cat.

As we all know, while non-epileptic seizures are not a medical emergency, they sure do look like they are. Even to animals.

Soon after bringing our kitty, Sophie, home in 2019, I excused myself to our bedroom to have a seizure. Sophie jumped up and watched the whole time, enraptured and confused. As soon as the convulsions stilled and I went limp, Sophie was on top of me. She forcefully and frantically shoved her head under each of my arms until I showed her that I was alive enough to put both of my hands on her, at which point she ran out of the bedroom meowing for my partner and trying to lead them to me.

I'm still amazed at how quick she was to read that I was in danger and knew just what to do about it. Especially since she's otherwise such an airhead. I'm not surprised by how much she cared, though, because cats are so much more loving than some people give them credit for.

She has since gotten used to my symptoms and doesn't panic anymore lol. But I'm sure she thought she saved my life that day.

How have your pets reacted to your symptoms? Let's swap stories.

Paid pet deposit, filled form explicitly saying what my pet is, form was approved, now landlord says pet is not allowed

Hi, I'm hoping you can help me figure out our rights here. Last year, we decided that we wanted a ball python. Digging through our rental agreement, I could find nothing about what kind of pets we're allowed to have, not even anything about cats or dogs. So I emailed my landlord and asked him what pets we're allowed to have, and he said we can have "2 small pets" and we would just have to pay the deposit for a new one. This would have been the time to tell me if anything was not allowed, but he did not.

Fast forward to September. We got our snake and paid our deposit. I filled out the info form sitting right in front of my landlord, and explicitly wrote that the pet is a ball python. Landlord took the form, scanned it, and sent it to head office for approval. Apparently, it was approved, because we heard nothing else about it in the 9 months since.

Yearly unit inspections were today. Landlord came in, saw the enclosure, and told us that snakes were not allowed. I told him that I wrote it on the form, and he repeated himself, and I repeated myself. He said that he has no idea how it got approved, because snakes are not allowed here. I explained that the snake is not going to get very big and he's not fed live feeders so there's no worry about infestation.

His enclosure is also PVC and locks securely, and the snake is not allowed to free roam outside of his enclosure.

We did everything right, so we have that going for us. Paid for him and honestly filled out the forms, never at any point were we told that we could not have a snake, and it says nothing about snakes in our rental agreement. We have a photocopy of the form I filled out and a screencap of the email my landlord sent. The only thing we could find was that the landlord can order a pet to be removed if they "become a nuisance", but the snake makes no noise and lives in a box, and clearly is not a nuisance if he did not even know the snake was here for 9 months.

I'm still worried about what he might be allowed to do. What are our rights here? What can we do if he takes action?

EDIT to add: The landlord signed the form that I filled out.

Hey all, I have a weird chronic pain symptom that I'm not sure what to attribute to, but my FND seems like the most obvious culprit since it just kind of causes Everything, so I'm wondering if anyone else shares my experience.

On certain parts of my body, mostly my upper back, shoulders, arms, and legs (I guess that's most of my body lol) I have high sensitivity to pressure. Usually it's from even slightly concentrated pressure like gently bumping a corner of a surface or scratching an itch. The initial contact doesn't really hurt, but a few seconds later I get strong pain radiating from that spot that lasts for a couple minutes.

If I'm sick or having a bad pain flare up, the spots on my upper back can be so sensitive that it hurts to lie down.

When I talked to my NP about it she called it fibro, which I know FND can cause, but it's kind of the only fibro-like symptom I have, so I'm not sure.

Anyone else feel me?
