Semi-new player, I'm stunned at how good this game is

I'm sure this isn't a unique post. But I wanted to express my excitement and awe at this game. I played Wynncraft when I was super young, it wasn't really put together, the map was nothing like it is now, and I don't remember any class building things at this level.

I on a random night last week was on a discord call with some friends when someone said "dude remember that minecraft mmorpg??"

Lo and behold, I am now about a week deep as a new character. Just hit lvl 35.

I thought that this would be what it was before, just a minecraft server that's doing it's best chop-job to emulate rpg mechanics. Cute, but not enough to stick around with. Boy was I wrong.

This is on par with a full feature MMORPG, similar to games like diablo or PoE. The writing is impeccable, and every corner of this world has so much to offer. I just finished the shovel quest in Time Valley... who comes up with that?? *especially* in a measley minecraft server!

The borderlands-esque loot shoot mechanics and skill tree are so engaging, and what I've always loved about similar arpgs. The crafting machanics are in depth, the sky base is an awesome cherry on top. And the events are so damn cool.

Anyway I wont glaze too much, lol. But this is practically a full feature game with lively players and active updates. It's an incredible feat, and maybe one of if not the only game to come out of the minecraft engine that can punch this high above its weight class and perform on this scale. I have a feeling if it wasn't buried below the stigmas of minecraft, it would be a household name.

That's all. Just wanted to express this. Having a blast with Wynncraft, excited to reach 120 and finish the story.

Help me find a mod!

(I'm new to this subreddit, desperately searching for something like this mod. If this isn't a good use of this subreddit, please let me know and direct me to somewhere I can ask these questions!)

Hey all!

This seemed like the best place to ask this. I for about two years now have used a Minecraft world as a sort of journal. A world I can escape into, build whatever, express myself, kill time, etc. My most prized possession is my library, where I have stored books upon books of personal journal entries of my life. I am a writer IRL, so I also use this library to adopt personalities that submit their own journal entries, including my player character, who documents his quests and goals in Minecraft.

Anyway, all that to say that the standard books are bogging me down. They're difficult to organize, clunky to write in, and don't have too many features.

So, I'm DESPERATELY looking for any sort of mod that may improve books, writing in books, and/or book/item organization and tagging. Honestly, I have no idea how farfetched this may be, but literally anything to improve how I like to experience Minecraft would be incredible. Does anyone know of any good book mods?

And if not, I'm motivated to create one. Is there an easy way to create mods out there? And/or mod writers I could commission to make it a reality? I'll go so far as to fully learn Java if it may come to it...

Thanks in advanced!

TLDR: Looking for a Minecraft mod that will improve books and writing in them.

Taking the red line at 4am?

Hey all, getting a new job pretty soon here which will be requiring me to take the red line at around 4am almost every day for about an hour. I'm excited for the time to have to myself, but I've heard things can get a little sketchy on the max around those hours.

I'm not unfamiliar with public transport, or the max lines at all, but having it be my consistent commute so early is new for me.

Any tips and/or advice about this that I should be aware of? Am I being nervous about it for no reason? Just let me know, thanks!

The moment we get commission and/or compensation will be the moment I start hand selling.

Simple as that.

I love to work with customers and help them find new books, and I especially love to hand them my favorites, but this recent shove for pushing OMPs and the countless popcorn fiction that comes into our stores is a little ridiculous.

I'm not a car salesman or a phone service provider, I know I'm not because I don't get paid enough.

I also know that being the best hand-seller in the store is a one-way ticket to staying exactly where you are for the rest of your time, because you serve your purpose well.

Honestly, I've grown in the company quite a bit, I'm a lead in my store. And I'll be the first to secretly admit that I am horrible at pushing omps. The trick is nobody really cares, especially if you excel at everything else.

I would love to learn, if barnes and noble would love to pay me for the sleazy work of pushing bullshit on my regulars.

Just complaining. This push, especially this weekend, has really just been a sign that they want us to continue to do more for less. It's annoying and tiring, my little form of protest is just not falling for it.

Custom Mistborn MTG Commander Precon (so far) warning: SERIES SPOILERS

Hey all! I posted this in the custom MTG forums already, but I thought folks over here might like to see it too!

So, my brother and I have set off on a challenge to create MTG Precon decks if there ever happened to be a Brandon Sanderson Cosmere set of any kind. I decided to make mine Mistborn themed, with Sazed/Harmony at the helm.

We've limited ourselves to a total of 15 'new-to-magic' cards, one new mechanic, and as many re-prints as we saw fit. Here's what I've come up with so far, a few new ones, a few reprints.

I am very very curious what everyone may think of these so far. Especially what you may think about my new mechanic: Influence! I personally think it's a fun adaptive take on a very old and forgotten mechanic in magic, but I can see how it can be maybe confusing. Don't think it's too powerful, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Most of these artworks are official and pulled from the coppermind website, but a few were made by independent artists who I properly attempted to credit at the bottom of their cards.

I also will say that cosmere fans you may say something like "Mistborns should be all colors" or "The aspect of the character you captured isn't even their coolest one." and to that I agree! This is just for this specific theoretical pre-con, and in an ideal world where a set was created, multiple versions of prominent characters would be made.

Please please let me know what you think so far, we want to eventually put the 'precons' together and playtest them, thank you!

Edit: Immediately seeing an error on my first commander card. Instead of Invest (the original name I had), it should say Influence Sazed with the chosen color.

Frank Miller's Push the Wall ARC?

I see that in July's looking ahead that Frank Miller's book is releasing soon. I would KILL for an arc of this. Do we have any information if stores will be getting them? Has anyone seen any?

Also, greater question, is there any sort of way we can check what arcs we are getting the stores?

I really really hope I can find one!
