Day 3 of Olanzapine

I don’t have that sedated feeling luckily. Does it take a few days for the medication to kick in or something? I’ve heard most people feel heavy sedation from it. I’m on 5mg.

Less sleep no energy surge?

Been sleeping for like 3-5 hours for the last week but I don’t feel any electrified energy like the 2 weeks I had before. Is this insomnia or is this the continuation an episode? I think I just came out of a hypomanic episode because I wasn’t sleeping well (waking up multiple times a night around 6-7 hours of sleep) and had ADHD symptoms x100 but now my sleep has been slashed in half out of nowhere.

Anti psychotic induced Mania?

I’m about to start an anti psychotic and was curious if it has ever triggered some manic/hypomanic symptoms for you guys. I googled that it can rarely happen but I’m not sure, since this is my first anti psychotic

Getting started on an anti psychotic

I don’t think my behavior warrants an anti psychotic, but what are the first few days gonna look like? How long does sedation typically last for you guys when y’all started? Any other side effects I should worry about? I know we’re all different but I’m not sure what to expect. I just had some hypomania for a few weeks but I ALSO have ADHD so idk

Question on shifting from stable to hypomania

My ADHD is on fire and my sleep is starting to falter. Will a shift look like regular sleep one day, little sleep the next or days of super hyper can’t sit still or focus and then the next is semi hyperactive? I don’t know it’s so hard to differentiate the two. It takes me so long to fall asleep

I’m having my first actual hypomanic episode I think

Yall I thought the diagnosis was some BS but my ADHD has been tripled in power and my sleep is starting to suffer. I’ve been so energized and I slept 3 hours last night. Sleep has been mostly shitty anyways but I at least got 7-9 hours. I’m type 2 and I’m only on the type 2 mood stabilizer that’s popular and the NDRI that’s also popular. What do I doooooo?? I called the psych and have an appointment Wednesday

Saying actual because my only episode was medication induced by anti depressant

Those with ADHD and Bipolar

Are your ADHD symptoms ramped up during hypomania/mania?? I can't sit still for the life of me even in bed and it takes me forever to fall asleep. My confidence is higher than usual and I'm just so restless. So much pacing. I can focus I think idk. I've been irritable as hell at work too. Maybe my impulses have been more than usual IDK. but yeah, does your hypomania seem to be your ADHD symptoms just more?

The confidence thing, I asked a girl out and she said yes but she was only 18 and I’m 23 so I said no nvm you’re too young for me and asking a random girl out that I’ve only seen twice is kind of out of character for me but it made me feel so much better about myself that I even had the courage to do so

Struggling to fall asleep

feel restless at night and it takes me forever to fall asleep. I’m moving around in my bed, and walking around and it just takes forever. I still get 6 to 7 hours nightly so I doubt it’s hypomania. I just feel restless. Maybe exercise can exhaust myself but I work too much to squeeze exercise in. I already run around the restaurant 9 hours a day. Idk. I have ADHD btw

Obviously only the psychiatrist can decide this but I’m type 2 and I take the mood stabilizer that is common with type 2 and my family and friends think I had some breakthrough hypomania and my mother wants me to add an anti psychotic.

I did send some off the wall texts to my family and friends tbf. Yeah I had a week and half of some impulsive, mild paranoia, and irritability, distractibility. Does that really warrant an anti psychotic though? Wouldn’t a simple adjustment to my mood stabilizer be fine? I was sleeping. Looking back a lot of it was uncalled for but it was all so mild in my view.

Also have adhd so idk

So I had a major depressive episode followed by anti depressant induced hypomania. Do episodes now just start to come after the first depression and hypomania? Does the first one lead to now more coming in the future? Mine was antidepressant induced so idk how any of it works, but my mood stabilizer has me stable now

Did anyone else struggle to speak during their mixed episode instead of rapid speech? I had rapid speech during the hypomania but not during my mixed state. I was only able to get a few words out at a time.

Don't name the medication

Took months, but I am completely out of my depressive episode and have been the most stable I've been since June of last year. While I take mine with an anti-depressant that focuses on dopamine and norepinephrine, I was curious if mood stabilizers even works for non-bipolar individuals. I have heard some anecdotal studies on here that it helped those who only have unipolar depression that was treatment resistant.

Bonus question is how many episodes you guys have yearly medicated? How long do they last?
