A Cruel Cruel Addiction

I self excluded off all the sites but made the mistake of doing a 4 week times out on one of the sites. Can you guess what happened when that 4 weeks was up? Yep, I got an email saying my time out ended and was “curious” and “thought i had a handle on it”. Deposited $100 first and 24 hours later my savings is nearly depleted. To be fair I had $8k in my savings total, which isn’t a lot to some, but for me it was. I self excluded with about 1k left in it so i’ll take that win. I’m still able to pay the bills and continually save each month from my paycheck… but DAMN. 7k gone like that. I told my husband to be accountable, he doesn’t really care, but I just feel icky. This feeling will pass and i’ll rebuild my savings once again.

All this to say.. JUST SELF EXCLUDE TODAY BEFORE IT GETS ANY WORSE!!!

Self Excluded

self excluded this morning- feels good.

biggest thing that helped me is being honest with not only myself but family members and my spouse. they are the perfect amount of support but also hard ass that i needed in order to push myself to do it. i would recommend if you’re struggling to talk to someone you trust in order to keep yourself accountable.

it wasn’t even a big loss that led up to me self excluding- it is the fact that i know nothing will ever be enough and i have a baby on the way and really can’t mess with my money. just knowing i don’t even have the option to gamble makes my brain feel clearer.

Hi we are a 26F and 27M, expecting a baby boy next month! We are extremely excited, but also have run into some problems that have been causing us stress. I wouldn’t normally post something like this, but we would like to know if anyone can read anything, or predict anything to ease our mind on our future, or just tell us anything really. Thanks in advance!!

Edit: I think the timeline of this photo is causing some of the comments. This picture was taken so long ago before a major negative event which in turn, made our relationship stronger and better. Maybe I’ll try to find a more recent photo and post it later.
