The Black Death arrived

In the Oakley family, there started with the parents, the oldest daughter Robin - a teenager (I will write the rest from her perspective), the twins (teenage brother and sister), her younger brother, a child, and a toddler brother.

then the war came, and her father and one of the twins were sent to fight, but the father died.

then her brothers grew up to become a teen and a child.

But the celebrations didn’t last as the Black Death came knocking at the door.

the first to fall ill was her youngest brother, followed closely by her mother, and shortly after her other brother. they all died on the same day one after the other (pictures 1-3, I thought freezing to death was the most accurate death option).

the two sisters were now distraught and living alone, and the next day, on robins birthday, her brother returned from the war, and he was welcomed with the sad news of his mother and brothers (picture 4)

but the happiness of his return didn’t last, as he fell ill, and the sisters watched their last brother die.

the sisters are now living alone, robin is now a young adult and is going to marry the peasant she’d been set to marry since she was 15, and her teen sister has only a few days before she ages up.

I was thinking of having her younger sister involved in some sort of scandal that robin has to sort out for her, but I haven’t fully decided yet.

if anyone has ideas on how to continue this storyline please let me know!

How much money before your sims are no longer peasants?

Its currently 1342 and from farming my sims have already got over 50,000 even though I have simple living on, and so use half the farm produce for cooking, and I make them buy from the market anything they don’t already have, and I try to make them donate to charity as much as possible to keep their money low.

I’m not sure how much I should let them have because I’m not playing with cheats so I can’t adjust it anytime, but I was wondering if they should rise in the ranks or something?

for reference the packs that I have that may be useful are cottage living, horse ranch, and royalty and legacy.

they have a lot of crops, four mini goats, one cow, two coops full of chickens, and two beehives.

I’m wondering do I reduce their farm animals and plants, as many chickens are dying anyway, or do they become more rich?

Are you sure you’re doing that right…

I have just created family in the 1300s, and the wife was loving farm life… until she asked her husband to milk and clean the cow…

Help!

I’ve just started the ultimate decade challenge starting in 1300s, but the rules I found were really confusing so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what decades the “main events” happen during, e.g the famine

Thanks in advance!

1910 disaster

I started the challenge in 1890, and since then it’s been 25 years.

My founder, Tobias had a wife, Clara, and she gave birth to two healthy daughters, Mary and Suzy. She then had a son, who was the perfect heir for her husband, but smallpox arrived at the house and the prodigal son caught it and died age 3. Clara then had another child hoping for a son, but it was a daughter, the most beautiful of all her daughters, Clarissa, but Clara died during birth.
Tobias was then left with no wife, and three daughters. A while later he remarried a wife closer in age to his eldest daughter, Mary Thant to him, and his new wife, Sofia, had three sons, Harry, Colin, and Charlie.

This family grew up together, Tobias married his three daughters off to respectable men, and taught each of his sons to be ready to take over the family legacy. Life seemed to be going really well.

But then, of course, the luck ran out. World War I began, and Tobias, almost an elder, was called for war, and was killed fighting. Harry was then lucky enough to find a wife and have a daughter, but, a year later Harry was called to war, and luck had gone, as he didn’t return either.

Harry’s widowed wife then married Colin, and together they had a child (not yet born), before Colin was called to war too.

Lastly, a recently engaged Charlie was called to war, and he didn’t return either. At this point, there was Sofia left with no children and no husband, but she was getting old, and decided not to remarry. She was living with her pregnant daughter in law, and granddaughter.

Her daughter in law (Jane) then moved out with her daughter, and Sofia, left alone called her youngest, pretties stepdaughter, Clarrissa, to come live with her as her husband died of old age, and Clarrissa was loyal to him, refusing to remarry.

With her, Clarrissa brought her 10 year old son, Louis, to continue the family legacy. However, this was now a household without an Adult male, and so they invited the second daughter, Suzy to come with her SIX children and again no husband this time due to the war.

The three older daughters moved out to marry, but the two younger daughters were just children. Her only son was sixteen and was called to fight in the war, becoming the first in the family to return.

So now, Sofia (founders second wife), Suzy and Clarissa (second and third daughters of the founder), Louis (Clarissa’s young son), Henry (Suzy’s son), and Suzy’s two younger daughters are all living in the main household.

Each of Suzy’s eldest three daughters are living separately with their husbands in side households.

And lastly, the oldest daughter of the founder, Mary, is living with her husband, two daughters, and 3 year old son in another side household.

This family hasn’t had much luck with the war, but they somehow survibed with a potential heir, and a few spares.

If you have any ideas of how I should rearrange the households, please share them, as it was hard to get two heirs into my main household, and I’m open to simpler solutions.

What do I do if a new subreddit I created over a month ago still only has me as the 1 visitor?

1896 and still no heir

If you saw my post last week, you’ll know my attempt at the decades challenge keeps going wrong, and I’m only 6 years in now. here’s a quick update:

the wife of my founder gave birth first to a daughter, but we need a male heir.

she then had a son, but he died of smallpox when he was an infant.

she then had another daughter, she still needs a male heir.

and then while giving birth to her fourth child, who was also a girl, she passed away.

My founder now has three daughters, no wife and no male heir, and while mourning his late wife, he’s try desperately to find a new wife in order to have a male heir.

this is a very long process just for one healthy son 😞

My decades challenge is going wrong and I have barely started 😭

I created a man and a woman in CAS, but I forgot to make them married so I spent the first couple of days reaching their wedding.

I‘m starting in the 1890s so I made it so there was no power, but my sim then needed power to find a job so I had to change it back quickly.

A neighbour then called asking to stay over and I agreed assuming it would be one, but it was 4!!!

They were all angry and knocked over my trash can and broke my sink a million times! And my pregnant mother then had to clean up because her husband was working.

she then had the child but it was a girl 😐

Am I making this challenge harder than it should be or is it just really hard?!
