What are we really doing here??? If these Gambit cards weren't lucky.....
Green support. Let's goooo 🌳🍏 How are we feeling about this?
This was my first week back after a long time and I walked into The Challenger spaceship. Im a T-S driver, ran outta hours by Friday, still voluntarily came in to help as a helper Saturday. Now dont get me wrong, i love the job as much as EVERYONE (wtf who am I kidding lol) else here but GODDAMN!!
These are peak season numbers. Well I enjoyed my welcome back to work with a 14.3 hour DOT violated shift and had to be driven back to the building.
It seems that BP02 Legends Awaken is going to shake the game up quite a bit. What are yalls thoughts and deck combos for this card?
THIS JUST IN: At a local card shop in Houston TX, we have found two Palworld players who appear to be locked in combat and BOTH are running a Blue Structure Midrange/Control deck. Upon closer inspection, you can see the massive amounts of structures on each opposing side composing of more than half of the available board space.
Which Antique Chair will give in first? Whose Antique Mirrors will shatter into oblivion? Whose Cola Vending Machines have gone flat?
Find out first at Never o'Clock because neither of these guys are ever going to finish this fucking game.
So I went to Etsy and found a seller that makes amazing Palworld playmats. The quality on this one is amazing and it feels personal because I know a single person took time to specifically craft this for me and anyone else. I'm no gatekeeper, here is the sauce:
This information is for anyone other than me who cares about little stuff like this for educational purposes only. I only weight the packs I have already bought.
I have opened 5 booster boxes and two trial decks and weighed every pack and sorted them before ripping them all. That would be 62 booster packs.
I separated the packs into four piles: Really Light, Light, Heavier, and Hits
Really Light: any pack that weighs <13.62 grams (these were trash and uncommon due to low weight) These had only one peasant shatter foil in them like a Lamp or some other bs. They usually come 1 in a box, 2 if you are unlucky. If you are buying several loose packs and they all weigh this much, you just got scammed likely by someone using the information in this very post unfortunately, sorry.
Light: any pack that weighs between 13.63g - 13.74g (most packs land here) Usually these would have your typical 2 Shatter foils or maybe a Shattered RR and a SR (are SR Rainbow Foil? that's what I'm calling them🤷🏾) They are average and come about 6-7 in a box
Heavier: any pack that weighs between 13.75g - 13.79g (these are your maybe, maybe you will see an SR, OSR, SP, or SSP) You will generally need at least some sort of foil that isn't shattered to get these weights. They were also the second most uncommon weight range and usually contained more SR than anything since the likelihood of getting other foils like OSR, SP, or SSP were uncommon. They came about 1-2 a box
Hits: any pack that weighs >13.8 grams. Now when I say hit, I don't mean there's an SSP in there. I mean there is something heavy in there. Sometimes 3 foils. But you are likely to walk away with an SR, OSR, SP, or SSP. For example 5 regular common cards, 1 OSR, and 1 SR will land you a pack that weights 13.85 grams. The most exciting news about this weight range is that every box typically had about 3 packs in this group. The heavier this range the more likely you are to get a hit. The heaviest pack I had was 13.93 grams and I was certain there was at least an SR, OSR, SP, or SSP in and sure enough there was an OSR Digtoise in it, a Shatter Foil, and an SR.
Now for some regular basic information:
1 pack weighs between ~13.55 grams to ~13.95 grams. (The heaviest I've seen was 13.93 grams) Average ~ 13.67 grams
1 empty pack, just the wrapper, weighs exactly 1 gram
1 booster box weighs approximately 200 grams, give or take very few grams either way
1 empty booster box weighs (for those who give a damn) weighs about 33.7 grams
1 common card weights between 1.76 - 1.78 grams. Give or take maybe .01 to .02 grams either way
1 Shatter Foil weights between 1.87 - 1.89 grams. Give or take maybe .01 to .02 grams either way
1 SR weighs 2 grams
1 OSR weighs 2 grams
1 SP weighs 2 grams
1 SSP weighs ~2 grams (I don't have any SSP but based on my Lily's Strategy SP with its gold foiling on the writing, I'm sure SSP will weigh the same)
Now I'm sure the question everyone is waiting for is:
"Well about how much does a God Pack weigh?"
I'm low-key kinda scared to put the information out there but I'm sure everyone that is reading this are players using this information for educational purposes and not for greed and scalping. The God of the god pack is watching👀
From what I've seen online, a God Pack usually have 5-6 foils and 1-2 Golden Cattiva Soul. The likeliest combination is 6 foils and 1 Cattiva.
Based on the information I've gathered, the empty wrapper is exactly 1 gram and each of the foils whether they are SR, OSR, SP, or SSP all weigh 2 grams a piece. The weight of the Golden Cattiva Soul is unknown but if it's anything like my Chillet Soul Promo card then it should weight 2 grams as well. Adding up to:
A God Pack weighs ~14.9 grams to ~15.1 grams. Likely hovering right around 15 grams which is significantly heavier that a "hit" pack in my research. You will certainly be able to tell this difference of weight in hand. Even a 13.86 gram hit pack weighs significantly more in hand than an average 13.67 gram pack
I ordered a case of set 2 and I will be weighing the boxes, packs, and doing some more independent research on the data just for the hell of it. No I'm not a scalper. I'm a player of the TCG and the PC game. I don't resell, even though this post gives off mad scalper vibes I'm ngl.
Edit: We have confirmed in the comments that the Golden Cattiva Soul card from the God Pack does indeed weigh 2 grams just like any other full foil art. The God Pack weighs 15 grams
I plan on playing Palworld even if they said they are discontinuing it tomorrow. I'm in it forever.
