Took 41 years to find one…

Loved the sound, look, and history with teles . Andy Summers, Albert Collins, Danny Gatton, all inspiring. But every tele I tried sounded meh, felt meh, or both, until yesterday. Used my day off to trade in a bunch of old gear at the local music shop. As per usual, tried about 6-8 teles, meh. They had a pair of b-stock G&Ls, functionally brand new. Picked this one up and wow. Resonant unplugged and everything felt perfect. Neck has a knot on the 4th fret, so I tried its twin, which had an unblemished fretboard. Totally dead, meh. Got this and two used pedals even steven with the trade. I’m supposed to go to a bunch of parties today for the fourth, but honestly, I just want to play this thing until I can’t any more. Woot woot!

Noob Questions

I see a lot of posts from new cigar enthusiasts on here, so I thought I’d poll the community on some questions I have. Hoping you all can help educate me.

  1. Does the type/style/design of your ashtray matter?
  2. Is it problematic to smoke only a portion of a cigar and come back for the rest? If no, anything I should do to keep it enjoyable on round two?
  3. I don’t drink alcohol. Other than coffee, can anyone recommend a pairing? Food or drink?
  4. Most posts with a lot cigar show the band still on. Is there a reason for that? I take mine off before or right after lighting.

Thanks for any opinions you might have!
