Negotiation Help

Hello all!

I am 30yo, have 4 years experience administrative assistant (in title only, I do everything from sales and labor analysis to being the power user of company software, developing and improving processes, and joining teams that include director and cfo level employees and being an active and necessary participant in these teams), and before that 4 years in underwriting. I am 7 months away from graduating with my second bachelor's degree. First was in English 10 years ago, second in accounting. I currently make 63.3k.

I interviewed for a job as a financial business analyst yesterday. Today they called me back and offered the job. Salary range is 60-70k. During the initial phone screening 2 weeks ago, I told them I expected a salary of 66-69k. Today they offered 66k. After reviewing the package, their insurance is about $900 more expensive/year and their OOP max is $750 more than my current job. I also get profit sharing at my current job in addition to annual bonus. New job does annual bonus, no profit share. New job has more paid holidays. New job has 2 days remote 3 days in office and is 9 miles closer to my house (hybrid schedule is HUGELY attractive to me).

After weighing all the pros and cons, I dont know if it would make sense for me to accept for less than 68k.

Other notes: I had surgery this year, so i was basically forced to use all my vacation, and since i was on fmla, vacation was not earned during the weeks I was out, so i will have to repay about $1,000 vacation. My annual bonus comes mid-November, and if I leave now, I will forfeit that bonus (like what was i thinking looking for jobs rn lol)

Would it be too risky to counter 69k and assume they'll counter back? What other recommendations do you have? PTO is non-negotiable unfortunately.

I missed this med...

I took a month off (had been on the med for 21 weeks, was on 7.5mg and didn't plan to move up) due to surgery. I started again at 2.5mg a week ago, and 3.1lbs down in a week (I assume alot of that is post-surgical inflamation and starting over with water weight again). Regardless, I missed being on this med for that month, it's such a miracle worker and makes me feel so good.

Is Claims Adjuster Trainee Worth It?

Hello!

I am currently working at a job that pays me $63k/year. That said, it is all in-person work and in an industry I'll never care about. I prefer to work independently on my own workload and projects, of which I am not at all doing at this job. Edit to add - working from home is VERY attractive to me and part of the reason I'm willing to take a pay cut.

I found the claims adjuster trainee position in my area, and after doing some reading online about the job, I'm honestly intrigued. However, the top end pay is $57,500. I'll be taking a nearly $6k pay cut.

I'm just wondering if this is a job that will get me back up to a higher salary within a few years? Will the promotions and pay increases pay off long term if I'm a high performer?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Omg Bowel Movements are the worst!

I am 30 hours post-op, and I have to poop SO BAD, but every time I sit down to go, I can't 😭😭 I am leaned back, feet up. There is poo in there but god darnit it isnt wanting to come out. And I cant push at all because that feels not great. I did just chug some miralax. Wish I would have done so last night, but whatever. Let's just get this show on the road, no matter how small. The feeling of needing to go to the bathroom is more painful than recovery itself 😭🤣😭🤣

OMG YALL I POOPED A LITTLE BIT!!!! All I had to do was come here to complain, it seems. 🤣

Hysterectomy Complete!

I just woke up from my hysterectomy at 9am.

Total hysterectomy with a bilateral salpingectomy.

I woke up in a pain level ringing from 3-5 (5 at first cuz they gave me more pain meds). As soon as they put me in my post-op room, I shoveled down crackers and hot water, took a fat piss, got dressed, and asked if I could leave. They were like dang girl you're cruising!

My only complaint is that it was so freezing that I was literally shivering amd my nurse was honestly really shitty and said that the blanket warmers were broken when there actually was one that was working and came to gave me warm blankets after my 3rd request to be warmed up (the shivering was honestly very uncomfortable and contributing to the pain).

I came home, carried all my own stuff upstairs, brought my dog out for a quick potty by myself (which means up and down stairs) and I. Feel. Incredible.

I've seen some people say on here that they feel like their organs are sloshing around in the new empty space. Not my experience at all. I feel like there's absolutely nothing different about me, and the pain is just uncomfortable period cramp-like pain.

I only took 1 oxy at the hospital cuz my hope is to not use them (they give me severe, severe headaches). I am going to take a couple oxy between today and tomorrow to stay ahead of any possible pain I am still facing, but 3 hours post-op, my review is a resounding 5 stars.

Hair Loss

Hey all! I have hit the 20% of my body weight gone and the medication is going great. I've taken 21 shots and not moved beyond 7.5mg, but in the last couple of weeks, I've noticed significantly more shedding - which means the dreaded hair loss has found me.

What did you do to stop/slow hair loss? It isn't noticeable yet, but I fear I'm not far off from it being noticeable.

And, how long did your hair loss last?

I'm... feelin' myself today.. for the first time in many years.

Today I got the bright idea to try on a pair of slacks I haven't worn since winter (and that were honestly way too tight in winter). They always gave me good shape, but I tried them on today and they're very nearly too loose and I could hardly believe my eyes at how good my curves looked in them!!!!!

I'm down 47.6lbs (38% of my goal), so I still have ALOT to go, but it was a rare moment of me feeling hella fine for the first time in a suuuper long time.

First Hallendale dose...

Yowza. For the last 18 weeks, I've been on BPI and had no injection site issues. Took my first Hallendale dose today and the injection site stings like crazy an hour later and I have horrendous heartburn.

I used to think people complaining about Hallendale injections were dramatic, but foot meet mouth cuz this sucks. I hope it doesnt happen every time, or I'm in rough shape for the next few months.

Onederland is SO CLOSE!

I am 0.5lbs away from being in onederland. For the first time in nearly a decade. I can hardly believe it! I could weigh less than 200lbs in the next couple of days. This felt so unreachable just a few months ago.
