We’re a friendly group, and while we usually ride together, you absolutely do not need a bike to join—non-riders are more than welcome to come along for the hike.

We met at the meeting point at 5:00 AM sharp. The total ride distance was 170+ km round trip, which included 40+ km of off-roading while heading to and from the fort.

During the off-road section, the RE Scram 420 rider almost got into an accident, and another rider’s bike got punctured. Despite that, it was a great adventure – both the ride and the trek.

The trek itself was a success, with nearly 15 people showing up. We literally climbed through rocks and tackled the steepest sections. Those who struggled were helped along by fellow members.

On the way down, I had a hard time due to my fear of heights and the constantly slippery surface. That’s when a fellow trekker, around 50–60 years old, came to my aid. Truly grateful for that.

After descending, we had lunch together and were back home by 6 PM.

This is just the beginning of our riding & trekking adventures for monsoon.

We finally pulled off the meet-up & ride – and it turned out to be nothing short of amazing. A bunch of fellow riding enthusiasts, a familiar faces and a 2 new ones, came together early this morning. The energy was electric, the weather played along, and our machines hummed in unison as we hit the road.

After a scenic ride through winding roads and open countryside, we reached our destination: the ruins of the Chalukya-era Wageshwar Temple. Tucked away from the usual tourist trails, this place feels like a forgotten chapter of history, slowly being reclaimed by time.

Walking through the crumbling stone arches and weathered pillars, you can’t help but marvel at the craftsmanship of the Chalukyan artisans. Intricate carvings still peek through the moss and dust. The main sanctum, though partially collapsed, holds a quiet, sacred aura. A weathered Shiva lingam sits at its heart, with faint traces of what might have been a mandapa and a nandi mandapam nearby.

We spent over an hour exploring, taking photos, and just absorbing the silence. Some of us tried to imagine how this temple would have looked in its prime – a bustling center of worship, with priests chanting and lamps flickering against stone walls.

After the ruins, we shared chai , cold Drinks and Vada pavs. That’s what makes these meet-ups special – it’s not just about the destination, but the people you share the road with.
