Staying organized

Hey everyone!

I just started grad school. And I’m a very type B person. I’ve never had an actual calendar and I’m not even sure which is the way to set one up. Any recommendations? I got an actual planner but it’s not big enough to fit in everything. It’s mostly for big events. Please help!

Thank y’all!

What kind of questions are asked during an interview?

Hi everyone!

I will soon be starting the interviewing process and was wondering, what kind of questions do they ask?

If I freeze, can I say that I’m nervous and continue? I know I’m gonna freeze up and will just need a second to get myself together and confidently answer a question.

I am really afraid of going blank so I wanted to prepare with a variety of questions before hand .

Anything helps!
Thanks!

Applying to my first SLPA job

Hey y’all!

I’m about to graduate with my bachelor in audiology and speech language pathology and will soon be applying to an SLPA job. During my first year as a grad student. Can y’all please help me review my resume!

Ps. Should I remove babysitter? I wanted to add info, but I literally couldn’t without going over a single page.

SLPA Jobs/ networking

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming 1st year at UNT in Denton, Texas. I’m currently finishing my last classes to obtain my bachelors. And will be able to practice as an SLPA in the fall. I just finished my 5 week A&P 1 class and just have statistics and rehab rehabilitation in audiology classes left. It’s been a very busy summer so I haven’t had much time to look at job applications. My plan is to work as an SLPA during grad school. I’m afraid all of the positions will be failed by the time I start applying in late July/early August. When did you guys start applying to jobs? Also, do you have any tips or advice for the interviewing process?

Thankfully my current job has allowed me to meet several people who work with SLP’s, and have told me if I ever needed a job to let them know. For example a school principal, surgeons, OT’s and even a chef who has SLP friends. I’m very nervous to reach out to them and seize the chance to network. These wonderful people have seen me work and grow since I was a freshman so I have a decent rapport with them. Any advice?

Thankfully y’all!

Is grad school like summer classes?

Hi, I got accepted into my graduate program.

And I am currently taking my last core classes to graduate. During my anatomy and physiology five week summer course. I was given a PowerPoint with 120 slides during lecture and was told we were going to be quiz on it on the next day. I stayed up all night and studied and passed the quiz, but I’m wondering if this is how graduate school will be like. I hear the load work is a lot and there’s a lot of reading. I guess I just want a better idea of how it’s going to be. Just trying to mentally prepare myself.

Also, do y’all have any advice for imposter syndrome?

HELP!!! Forgot regalia at dry cleaners

Hi everyone! I know this is totally my fault!!! I forgot to pick up my gown and dress from the dry cleaners. I have my sash/cords/tassel/cap and a back up dress. The don’t open until Monday at 7:30am i have contacted their Facebook/ business neighbors and even sent a message/ review on yelp. Can anyone who recently graduated let me borrow/ rent theirs. Please DM me!!

I have also sent them a message on Facebook and it was from a previous owner and they’re helping me try and get in contact with them. But of course nothing is promised!!

I can’t believe I forgot I was busy buying stuff for the party. But I’m looking for solutions!

Worst case scenario I’m just late to the graduation

Update: the previous owner was able to get a hold of them and they will open tomorrow just for me😭😭💚 if y’all are ever in DALLAS PARAGON CLEANERS IS THE BEST!!!
