First real meal cooked in my new apartment. Normally I would have JC’s garlic mashed potatoes on the side, but too tired from unpacking. This recipe is from the French Chef cookbook and featured in season 1 episode 8 of the show. Always a winner!
I’m an old lady (60), my beauty has faded, and my suitors are long gone, but that’s a wonderful thing because I can pop down to the pub to enjoy a pint and a good book on my own with no one’s commentary or objections.
Gorgeous in his enthusiastic support and love for Julia. He used his skills (photography, drawing) and invested time in supporting her passions but never tried to claim credit for himself. He made her feel beautiful and desirable in a time that decidedly did not celebrate six-foot-two-inch tall brainy women with quirky voices. I’m sure he wasn’t perfect, but close!
Just moved into a new place and I’ve got my floor couch and my floor bed. I had extra tatami so made a headboard from one panel, with three panels under the futon.
My couch is a four-inch high platform bed with my twin two-inch futon mattress and a California king “backrest” pillow, along with some pretty throw pillows. In the winter I will be able to move the backrest pillow to the floor and cuddle up on the floor under the heated kotatsu table with a quilt.
