Job offer in Vermont

Our family got a job offer in Vermont, but our ability to buy a house up there and make the move is contingent on selling our house in Gainesville. We haven't really been paying attention to the real estate market in the area. We have a 4/2 1950sq ft in a nice neighborhood (NW) close to schools.

How long is it taking for houses in Gainesville to sell? I'm scared to do a bridge loan or contingency buy if it will be on the market for months. We can't wait that long to take the new job. Any information about the area or advice is greatly appreciated!

Rental calendar?

Job offer is in. If we make the move it'll be in the next couple months. We have to sell our home where we live to have a down payment to buy a house, and the housing available is insanely limited where we're looking.

We're probably going to have to rent for awhile first and then buy later. There really aren't a lot of family sized rentals available that I can see, especially for families with pets. Is there a typical time rentals become available? I live in a college town now and late summer is the only time there are options. Where we lived before rentals were January to December. What is the typical rental calendar in the outskirts of Burlington/SE of Burlington?

Another thought - when I used to be a traveling nurse we would rent out extended stay rentals. Is there a market for 2-4 month rentals in the area?

Utilities cost

Trying to determine what our actual cost of living would be before making the jump. How do utilities work? What can we expect for a 3-4 bedroom at the highest?

I've searched the group and I can't find anything about nurse wages in the area. My husband has a job interview in Vermont soon, and we are excited about the prospect of moving our family to the area, but I'm trying to get information to see if it would be financially feasible.

I have experience in high risk OB, labor and delivery, OR (several specialties), and care coordination/nurse navigator. What is a reasonable pay range I can expect in the state for 10y total experience?
