Published papers in Scopus-indexed journals but not appearing in Scopus yet. Who should I contact?

I have published two research papers in journals that are indexed in Scopus, but my articles are still not showing up in the Scopus database.

  • One paper was published around 4–5 months ago.
  • The other was published around 2 months ago.

I need the indexing for academic documentation purposes, so I am trying to understand the correct process to follow.

I have already submitted a query/complaint through Scopus support, but I only received an automated response saying that email queries are currently not being considered.

Does anyone know:

  • Who is the correct person/team to contact regarding delayed indexing?
  • Should I contact the journal publisher instead?
  • How long does Scopus usually take to index newly published articles?

Any guidance from people who have faced a similar situation would be appreciated.

Anyone in India got a PhD admission based primarily on their own research proposal? How did you approach professors and universities?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently applying for PhD positions in India and would appreciate advice from people who successfully got admission through direct faculty interactions.

My qualifications:

  • M.Tech CSE (CGPA 9.11)
  • B.Tech CSE (CGPA 8.45)
  • Published 1 paper
  • Multiple manuscripts under review
  • Research experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and NLP
  • Experience collaborating with faculty on research projects
  • Interested in Medical Imaging, Weak Supervision, and Explainable AI

I have developed my own PhD research proposal rather than applying solely to predefined project positions. The proposal focuses on reducing medical image annotation effort using weak supervision, optimization techniques, and reinforcement learning.

The challenge I'm facing is that I've been emailing professors whose research aligns with my interests, but I'm receiving very few responses (mostly no replies).

For those who got admitted to IITs, IISc, IIIT Hyderabad, NITs, or similar institutes:

  • Did you contact professors before applying officially?
  • Did you already have a research proposal when you reached out?
  • How much attention did faculty give to your proposal versus your publications and previous work?
  • How many professors did you contact before receiving positive responses?
  • Did you attach your SOP/CV in the first email?
  • Were you admitted based on your own proposed research direction or by joining an existing funded project?
  • What strategies actually improved your response rate?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from applicants who entered a PhD program with a self-developed research idea rather than simply joining an advertised project.

Any practical advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
