Official cost of tuition

Hey guys, I’m just on here to ask about when we will officially know how much tuition is. I have seen the estimated tuition but not the official one.

I’ve tried going to onestop, looking online, and the portal but I can’t find anything. I also have not received any mail or emails about the cost of tuition.

When do we officially know how much tuition is?

Advice about affording UofMN

Hey guys, I just got my financial aid offer along with my estimated tuition and it is not looking good for me. I am a upcoming freshman attending CBS so this is all very new to me and is giving me a lot of stress.

I live about two(2) hours away from the U so I am unfortunately dorming in Frontier. Dorming at the U also requires me to have a meal plan which is crazy expensive. Just the dorm and meal plan costs 15k for both semesters which is absolutely insane.

That's not even talking about the classes themselves. I was a PSEO student so most of my Lib Eds are already complete. This means that I am basically taking pure STEM classes which are more expensive. My estimated tuition says it will be 10k per semester so that equals 20k for the year.

My financial aid only covers 23k which means that I have 12K left. I really do not know how I can finance this without taking out a crap ton of loans and leaving me in crippling dept. I have been trying to apply to multiple jobs at the U but none have responded.

Does anyone have any advice or are going through the same situation? If so, how are you guys financing it?

Advice/Info for CBS: Nature of Life?

Hello, I'm not really sure if this is the right flair for this, but I am a upcoming CBS student that is attending Nature of Life on July 21st.

I was just wondering if there are any CBS students that could give me any advice on what to pack/bring and what the week will entail.

Can I wear earphones?

Hey, just wanted to get on here and ask if it would be ok to wear earphones.

A bit of context, I (17F) have had tinnitus for a couple months now. It is only in my left ear and after checking in with a ENT, no hearing loss.

It is my last year of high school and am off to college soon. I am wondering if it would be possible for me to wear earphones.

Hi! I am a senior in high school and have applied and been accepted into the UofM for Biology. Lately, I’ve been having doubts and am wondering if this should really be the path I go down.

For context, I am from a first gen immigrant family with low income (I’m talking below 35k with both parents). The tuition is expensive for me even with scholarships and financial aid and although I love Biology, I’ve heard that it is really hard to find good, sustainable, high paying jobs. I've also thought about going into med school and a biology degree would be good for that, but I'm still on the fence about it and a bio degree won't be good for pretty much anything else.

I just need some advice. Should I stick with my major? What are some good jobs with just a Biology degree? What are your experiences with the UofM? I thought that it would be best to get insight from those that are actually getting their degrees from the UofM.

Again, I absolutely love Biology. I love being doing labs and studying it, but I don’t know if I will be able to support my parents with it. This might just be me being stressed and overthinking and panicking over something that isn't as big of a deal as I am making it out to be.

Again, I absolutely love Biology. I love being doing labs and studying it, but I don’t know if I will be able to support my parents with it.

Any advice?
