GPA friendly premed majors?
I was wondering which majors at U of M are the most gpa friendly for premeds. I am particularly debating against biology and human physiology.

Is it to easy? Do you guys think I need to add more courses?
I just want to make sure none of this looks unreasonable in terms of times or walking. Are the classes themselves good, etc.
How to claim my AP credential awards from the U? All of my scores have come in and I can use eight of them based on their list of ap credit awards but I don't know how I'm supposed to request them/have it reflected on my APAs. The school has already received all the official test scores from college board as of like 4 days ago or smth. Is there a form I fill out or do I need to contact my advisor (also which one cuz I have a cla advisor, honors advisor, and mlk reverend program advisor). I'd like to know sooner than later bc someone told me asking for those credits has a deadline which is august 1st.
This post has three main questions:
- Realistically, could I make all of these classes on time? (I've been told I'm a really fast walker if that helps lol)
- Is this too much work? (18 credits but I think the open friday would help)
- How do I register for the nexus/nova thing for the honors program requirements? I missed honors registration due to attending the mlk one instead
edit: I had another question pop up after posting mb T_T
I also am able to participate in the Dean’s First-Year Research and Creative Scholars Program, which I very much would like because I want to do undergrad research regarding sociology/psychology/political science (it'll be more specific once I figure out my main/specialized interest) but I'm not sure how that works nor do I know the time commitment that is recommended in order to develop good research and a good relationship with the professor.
how big are intro classes in STEM at the U of MN (Calc, intro physics, intro bio, intro chem, etc)? or how long till you get a class with fewer than 50 people in those areas? (not talking about labs or discussion sections.)
Keep seeing this message when trying to log into MyU on my computer. Still logged into my U email on my mobile apps but keep getting this message when logging in on my laptop?
incoming chemical engineering major. is this actually doable or should i drop something (presumably the libed)? assume im locked in
Incoming freshman in at UMN Twin Cities. I got a 5 on AP Physics C: Mechanics, which according to the UMN AP credit chart gives me direct credit for PHYS 1301W.
Some people have told me to retake 1301W anyway to “get used to how physics is taught at the university level” and build a strong foundation before 1302W. I see the logic, but it also feels like I’d be wasting 4 credits and a semester slot on material I already know well and especially since AP Physics C is already calculus-based.
Has anyone been in this situation? Did you skip 1301W and go straight into 1302W, or did you retake it? Did it hurt you or help you in 1302W and beyond (Physics III, thermo, etc.)?
For context: I’m want to be a ChemE major, so physics isn’t my core focus, but I still need to do well through the physics sequence. Would love to hear from students who’ve navigated this.
I’ve heard of seeing ap scores early for incoming freshman. Does anyone know if there is a way for umn?
When am I suppose to work lol. This is insane
Im going into my junior year of college and was wondering if theres any class that teaches AutoCAD,BlueBeam, etc? Im very uneducated when it comes to the software us CivE are supposed to use and read for daily tasks, and i have it downloaded but don’t know how or where to start.
So for those with experience, any tips or classes that gives the basics to operate these softwares?
Also any CivE or engineering advice is also welcomed and appreciated.
Anyone know anything about The Rail Apartments? I am leasing there this fall and have found it pretty hard to find reviews that aren’t outdated, so any info about it would be super helpful. I have read the lease ofc but I kind of just wanna know what to watch out for.
Hello! I am incoming female graduate student in chemistry. I am looking for an apartment for under $550 per month with female roomates that is safe and close to campus. I am going to be working in research and studying full-time so I’m looking for a quite/clean place. I’m very friendly, but will be very busy.
Please let me know if anyone has suggestions of nice apartments under $550 close to MATSE building or if anyone has an opening for a roomate.
Looking for someone to takeover ❗

Title, I didn't realize until after signing up for orientation that course registration would take place during orientation itself. Am I cooked as a CBS student? I am also in the Honors program and heard from somewhere that we get priority registration but I'm not entirely sure how true that is.
I sent my final transcript last Thursday and the umn hasn’t still got it. I am so worried cause July 1st is the final deadline otherwise you get rescinded. What should I do ?
I built an app for people to swipe on topics, match with someone who disagrees, and get scored on civility.
The idea was that if you were constantly an asshole, your civility score would follow you.
But I added a side feature called toxic mode where there was no civility score and people could just argue.
Every user went straight to toxic mode.
That taught me two things.
First, users do not always care about the product you think you built. They care about the part that creates the strongest reaction.
Second, my funnel was way too long for something that needed two people online at the same time. Ad to site to app store to install to onboarding to swiping to matching to finally chatting was just way too much friction.
So I was like ok lets just see if the friction is the issue here
I made a lightweight browser version focused on the behavior people were already choosing.
No install. No app store. Just pick a topic and jump in.

The bigger lesson for me was to watch what users actually do, especially when it is not what you wanted them to do.
Curious if other founders here have had users prefer the “wrong” feature and whether you followed it or kept pushing your original vision.
