[MOD POST] 7/4/26 Storms
First, I hope everyone is safe. Use your best judgement on venturing out if you absolutely must. Don’t hesitate to stay indoors if that looks like the better option.
But as /u/GonePostalRoute pointed out, TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN. Don’t drive through flooded areas.
Second, take a look at the threads that have already been posted about power outages, emergency response, and weather patterns. Your post or question might work better as a contribution to an existing conversation.
Third, feel free to post your storm damage pictures.
4th, hope you can still enjoy some fireworks somewhere.
Why you SHOULD eat at Wonder Lancaster
If you didn't know, Wonder Lancaster is a food hall located in the Crossings Plaza across from Longs Park. They offer hundreds of menu options from celebrity chefs, national chains, and ghost-kitchen style brands that only exist within Wonder.
Nary a single local restaurant is available at the Lancaster location, which makes it easy to avoid any guilt that may come from choosing between two or more different local businesses. Instead, you could order a steak from Bobby Flay! A chicken sandwich from Marcus Samuelsson! Pasta from Jonathan Waxman! And if you find yourself asking, "Who?" then you clearly haven't been watching enough TV.
Each of these celebrity chefs have signed licensing agreements permitting Wonder to slap their likenesses on an "order online" page where you can build your very own, non-locally sourced, meal. And to be fair, it's not THAT non-local. Every item is "par-cooked" at a "centralized cloud cooking kitchen" in New Jersey before being shipped here to Lancaster, because that is literally the only way to prep food. And last time I looked at a map, New Jersey is right next to PA.
Yes, par-cooked does mean it's not fully cooked but Wonder takes care of that by reheating each meal (as you would leftover food from the day before) in a programmable TurboChef Double Batch Oven, which usually takes only 5 minutes! How else are they supposed to provide a "low capital expenditure, minimal labor" kitchen that doesn't require the creation of more local jobs? THERE IS LITERALLY NO OTHER WAY!
Since I feel like we are finally over the nagging question of "how do I support local restaurants?" we can now move onto who we CAN support by frequenting Wonder: The answer is billionaire Marc Lore.
Lore was the president and CEO of Walmart U.S. eCommerce who now wants to build a utopian society in the desert that will serve as "a reformed version of capitalism" (whatever that means, lol). Therefore by supporting Wonder and their virtual kitchens, you are actually supporting a billionaire's vanity project!
So next time you want a cupcake, DO NOT go to Lancaster Cupcake, instead order from Wonder.
Next time you want Mexican cuisine, DO NOT go to Tequila Mexican or Cocina Mexicana, instead order from Wonder.
Next time you want a burger, DO NOT go to Route 66 or Cabalar, ORDER FROM WONDER INSTEAD.

Should I be waking up feeling like I can’t catch my breath?
No leaks from the mask but I’ve been waking up feeling like I just run a mile and out of breath while the machine is on.
