Cedar Rapids Marathon Inaugural Race, course POV from a guy biking around probably too close

A successful marathon was ran in Ceder Rapids and the start finish line was very fun spot to be!

I biked around and cheered for my friends as well as strangers because a lot spots needed people to cheer, and I like yelling!

Overall, I think it was a fine marathon the cloud cover really helped keep the heat away. I was not able to look at the second half of the marathon because I did not want to get in anyone’s way. I was already comically on the course hooting and hollering.

Flying after the Big Boy train over Ames (and visiting it in Belle Plaine)

I had a very fun experience chasing the Big Boy train via plane and then going to Belle Plaine and seeing it! Big engine activates monkey brain

I will be attending the meet and greet on Monday to try to get some questions answered. I am happy the marathon team has said the course is going to change. I still believe there are issues that need to be addressed to have a successful marathon! I am worried about the scope of these changes and the timeline of the June 7th marathon.
