Where to find a used GPU?

I am looking for a Nvidia GPU, anything above 1050ti 4gb. I have an intel i3 9th gen and will be using the gpu mostly for CUDA and light gaming.

I found a deal for a 1660Ti 6Gb on Famberz Built with 6 month warranty but I think it is a bit overpriced. I tried Facebook marketplace but the GPUs listed cannot pass the 3d Mark GPU stress test.

Help me find a laptop under 1.5L

Hello all, as the title says, I am looking for a good laptop under 1.5L. I previously owned a Dell G15 5511 and had a great experience with the device and the Dell Premium Service.

Now, before starting my Masters, I want to buy a new device which I can carry to college daily.

I will use the laptop mostly for software development and machine learning. I am not into gaming, but I do play CS2 once a week.

[Admissions Advice] BU MSDS ($20k Scholarship) vs. Illinois Tech MSCS (Mumbai + Chicago Transfer)

Hello everyone,

I am in a major dilemma and need some realistic advice. I have until June 15th to make a decision, so time is running out.

My ultimate long-term goal is to transition into a PhD program after gaining a few years of work experience. Here are the two pathways I am deciding between:

Option 1: Boston University (BU) - MSDS (Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences)

  • Cost: ~$79k USD tuition for 2 semesters (before a $20k scholarship). Total tuition is roughly $59k + Boston living expenses.
  • Duration: 2 semesters, with an optional extension to a 3rd semester for an additional $10k.
  • Pros/Cons: I really like the program and BU's research reputation. However, the current visa uncertainty and slot bottlenecks in India have me second-guessing things. It's a massive financial commitment for a short timeline.

Option 2: Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) - MS CS (Mumbai Campus with Transfer)

  • Structure: 2-year program starting at their new Mumbai campus. Includes an option for a semester abroad or a complete final-year transfer to the main Chicago campus (retaining STEM OPT eligibility).
  • Cost: 30 Lakhs INR (3M INR) total if done fully in Mumbai. If I transfer for the final year, it’s 15 Lakhs INR + Chicago campus tuition for that year. Much easier on the pocket.
  • The Catch: If I transfer for the final year, I land in Chicago right during the peak hiring season (August–October). Managing a new country, a new campus, and a brutal job hunt simultaneously sounds incredibly stressful.

(Note: I am also waiting on a Swiss university decision, but expecting a reject)

Given that my ultimate goal is a PhD, does BU's brand name and research ecosystem justify the heavy financial risk and the tight 2-to-3 semester timeline? Or is it safer to take the IIT Mumbai route, save money initially, and grind out the transfer year despite the chaotic job hunt window?

Also, the 3rd-semester extension at BU completely depends on whether a professor is willing to supervise my Master's thesis; otherwise, I’ll have to enroll in just one additional course to maintain my student status. However, the Illinois Tech program guarantees an option for either a Master's project or a Master's thesis.

Would appreciate any insights from current students or alumni regarding the research opportunities at both places. Thanks!

I want to study abroad, and my actual goal is to pursue a PhD. I am waiting for decisions from Boston University MSDS) and Columbia Universitv (MSAI). Taking into account the current iob market in the US, should I even consider pursuing a master's abroad, or should I stay in India and pursue a master's at an international university like the University of York (Mumbai campus) or Illinois Tech Mumbai?
