IVF Transfer, catheter with embryos were walked into the room…?! Is this normal?
We did a Transfer at a clinic in CO (for now I’ll keep that private), we’ve done one transfer before at another clinic and they wheeled the embryos (we are dong day 3 frozen both times, for reasons I won’t go into here, but adding that in case it is of instance in anyway, which I doubt).
Anyhow, previously the embryos as I remember, were wheeled into our room where we were waiting and they were in an incubator type machine. From there i remember them loading into catheter and then that was handed to doctor who implanted.
Today, I was ready with my camera thinking this is how it will be done, instead the door busts open and the embryologist literally hands the doctor the embryo transfer catheter and then she insets embryos.
I was just so taken back… is this normal practice… I’m in shock they were walked into room. I did t get to see outside door as to how far they came. Or if machine was outside door or what…
Any info much appreciated.
