Demolition Proposed for that handsome 167 year old farmhouse on Bull Creek Road

The City of Austin Property Profile tool shows a Demolition Permit in review for 4720 Bull Creek Road, between 45th St. & Hancock Dr. It’s the McCary-Theil house. Apparently the house was built by rancher James D. McCary in 1859 and until recently was the fellowship hall for the Highland Village Church of Christ. Note that there is no site plan permit, only a demolition permit. It’s zoned as single family residential so I guess needs a zoning change to do more than build a house. With such a big lot, almost 3 acres, seems like it could be developed easily enough without demolishing the historic house.

Seven days ago I (55 year old man) quit smoking weed after 40 years of smoking pretty much several times a day, every day, and now I am making more dumb mistakes now than I did when I was high all the time. The reason I stayed high all the time was to calm my mind. Every time I tried to quit in the past I felt overwhelmed, and reacted in such a manic way that went back to smoking for relief. This time I feel more centered, more calm, and more level headed. I’m hoping I am now in a place in life where I can break free. But. Today I was participating in a group sport that I regularly join in and I was making dumb mistakes constantly. It was frustrating to my team and humiliating for me. I don’t understand. I feel like I’m dumber when I’m not smoking. Any advice or helpful points are welcome. Thanks
