My partner has had a friend who has always had feelings for her. Asked her multiple times to date and she turned him down. Great, right? Yes.

But they are still very connected and share intimate details of their lives.

When she would share what they talk about I would think about it and mention hey it kind of sounds like he's into you. She didn't believe me then he said a few things that made her believe. I don't know exactly what they were since she would not share.

So she agreed to a temporary break from him so that her and I could develop a relationship without his involvement. Great.

He decently reached out after she set her boundary and shared how he thinks our relationship is toxic. He also went on with how beautiful and amazing she was and how she deserved better

It took awhile for her to tell me what he said. My preference would've been for her to tell him that was out of hand and inappropriate and to completely cut him off. Her response was to talk to him and let him know but then open it up to repair.

It didn't feel like our relationship was very protected and she is not getting my perspective. Says she needs to process his text and doesn't cut people off.
