Shopify Developer Needed — ARTISAN Furniture & Home Decor Brand

I’m looking for an experienced Shopify developer to build a website for a handcrafted, artisanal furniture and home decor brand.

The UI designs will be provided, so the primary requirement is accurate, high-quality implementation of the designs in Shopify, while making sure the website remains easy for the admin team to manage and update independently - without needing a developer for day-to-day changes. Would love to see some interactions you've developed on Shopify itself.

The scope will include:

  • Full Shopify e-commerce website setup and development
  • Implementation of provided Figma designs
  • Responsive development across desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Product, collection, cart and checkout experience
  • Standard pages such as About, Contact, etc.
  • Projects listing page
  • Project detail page/template — we collaborate with designers, work on government projects and participate in exhibitions, so these pages need to function more like editorial/project case studies than standard products
  • A flexible CMS/content structure so admins can easily add/edit products, projects, images, text and other content
  • Some basic but thoughtful interactions/micro-interactions where appropriate
  • Integration of any necessary Shopify apps/features
  • Basic SEO/performance considerations
  • Testing and bug fixing before launch

The website will primarily use Shopify’s existing ecosystem/themes, but I’m looking for someone who can customise and extend the theme properly rather than relying on static sections or image-based implementations.

I’d like to work collaboratively during execution and am open to discussing the budget based on your experience and skill set.

Please include the word “Artisan” in your message so I know you’ve read the brief carefully.

This is a one-time project, but attention to detail, clean implementation and the ability to bring the designs to life beyond a basic theme setup are important.

Please send:

  • Your Shopify portfolio, especially custom/agency-quality websites
  • Examples of work involving custom Shopify theme development
  • Your estimated timeline
  • Your min and max budget/rate

Designs are expected to be ready within the next few days.

Looking for a Shopify Developer to help with a furniture and home decor products website. I can give the design on Figma but want that to be developed on Shopify. This is a one time job - looking for someone who can do it within a week or less.

Experience required: 1.5+ years
Must have a portfolio with relevant work
Budget - 4.5k

A small request is that you include the word “artisan” when writing a message to me about this - so I know you’ve entirely read this message.

[FOR HIRE] Senior Visual Designer looking to collaborate on Product/UI UX projects (free or low-cost)

Hey! I’m a senior visual designer from NID with 4+ years of experience working across branding, visual systems, campaigns, and digital design.

Over the last year, I’ve also been working on product/UI UX projects and want to go deeper into: product thinking, systems thinking, interaction design, prototyping and solving real-world UX problems.

I’m specifically looking to collaborate with:
startups, founders building interesting products, engineers with side projects, small teams needing thoughtful UI/UX help

I’m mainly doing this to gain exposure to stronger real-world product problems and build meaningful case studies, so I’m open to working free / very low-cost for the right projects like - AI tools, consumer apps, health/fitness, productivity, social/community products, interesting niche ideas

If you’re building something cool, feel free to DM me with:
what you’re building, current stage, what kind of help you need

Happy to share portfolio/work privately after a little chat :)

Lost in Transition

I’m a 2023 graduate from NID, currently working as a Senior Visual Designer at a well-known startup in Bangalore (15.75CTC, 1.02lakhs in hand per month), and I want to transition into Product Design. I was having a difficult time at work for a long time so I put my papers just yesterday and I am on my notice period (gardening leave). I have been thinking about this transition for a long time, but I finally think I’ll be able to give it time and I’ll regret it if I don’t work on this.

I’m fully committed to making this shift and can dedicate serious time to it, but I’m feeling quite lost on where to start. My goal is to build a solid portfolio and be able to apply within the next 2.5–3 months.

From a compensation standpoint, I’m targeting roles above 22CTC but want to know if I can target for more. Given my existing design experience, I’m hoping I won’t have to start completely from scratch but I’m open to entry-level product roles if they align with that range too.

Where I’m struggling:

- What exactly should I focus on learning first and how should I go about it? (UX fundamentals, research, systems thinking, etc.)
- Which courses/resources are actually worth it?
- What do hiring managers really look for when hiring product designers?

If you’ve successfully transitioned from visual/graphic design to product design:

- What was your process like?
- Any tips to stand out in today’s market?

Would really appreciate any guidance, feeling quite stuck and unsure how to move forward.
