Blast From the Past

Blast From the Past

This pic came up in my memories from 9yrs ago today! Loved this setup on my 720 and was putting in pretty serious miles on it at the time. Lots of single track, dirt roads, and plenty of pavement too.

Was Able to Capture the Petcare Coming Out of Its Hole to go on a Night Ride!

Took the new bike around the neighborhood a few times this evening, only about eight miles, as it’s been a long day already. I feel like the switch has been flipped to hot in the last couple weeks and I don’t care for it, as usual. 82f with 79% humidity, at 10:30pm. At least I didn’t have to worry about a sunburn…

I’ll add a comment down below with a pic of the cool, big ass beetle I helped across the road during my ride!

Installed Some More Bits and Bobs Today!

My new handlebar and accessory mounting bolts came in today so I installed them and also threw on a Topeak rack and bag I already had, along with some used grips and mirror.

I also took the tires off to check out the rim strips, as I’ve had a problem with some on other lower cost bikes in the past. The front rim strip was great, but the rear seemed to be slightly thinner and had shifted enough to be of concern. So I replaced the rim strip with some tape.

Overall I think it’s really coming together. I’m debating on doing an e-bike conversion, as I already have a nice battery that would work really nicely on it. If I do I would probably go with the tsdz16 mid mount motor, to try something new. I had the tsdz8 on a previous bike and it worked really well. 🤷‍♂️

20” TPU Tube With Removable Presta Valve Core?

I would really like to use a Clik valved tpu tube in my 20x2.1 tire. I have found pretty much every other size tpu tubes with removable presta cores, but 20” really seems to be unavailable. If anyone has a link, I would really appreciate it!

First Publix Run on My BSO Chinesium Kid’s Toy !

… And it worked out wonderfully!!!

This was just a light run to pick up some fruit and drinks, I’ll probably throw on my rear rack and bag(s) shortly, and I need to grab another trailer attachment so I can use my cargo trailer with this bike too.

I’m mad I forgot secure my cooler strap before snapping the pic, doh!
