Intact is paying more to repair my car than I can fathom it being worth? What can I do?
My car: 2018 Chevrolet Spark LT 68k miles
So my car was in a not at fault accident and had enough front end damage to where I immediately assumed it was definitely a write off, but intact is telling me it is repairable at an estimated cost of $6375.
The airbags didn't go off (to the surprise of the tow truck) but the hood was folded nearly in half, the bumper is a write off, the abs lights came on after the crash, the passenger door makes a horrendous sound when it was opened after and my wheels aren't even aligned anymore, nevermind any damage I couldn't see.
Now this car cost me 18k after taxes fresh off the lot 8 years ago, I'm struggling to understand how they find that it's worth 7k if not more in hidden costs to repair instead of paying this cost to me to put towards a new vehicle.
Not to mention now its trade in value is next to nothing after this crash and I would assume absolutely less than the 7k in repairs, is there anything I can do or am I just out of luck?
