Adjuster non responsive, and I need a new doctor ASAP

I got injured at work last week, and I have an adjuster who called me ONCE and has been a ghost ever since.

I’ve now sent her TWO portal messages (because I literally cannot call her), and even though the portal says you’ll get a response within 1 business day, that’s total bull, because even after the HR liaison tried to reach out and contact her, the adjuster has not responded to either one of us.

I need to see an orthopedic doctor ASAP, and the adjuster not responding to my messages is delaying my care.

BTW: Per my adjuster, I have the right to change doctors, but it has to be approved by them, so at this point, it’s not even about referrals or anything…but of course, the one who can approve the change is nowhere to be seen or heard from.

Any advice?

There is no one else to call either. Everything is done through the portal. I’ve tried.

This is NOT my first work comp rodeo. But it IS my first time with an adjuster who doesn’t respond.

What can I do?

Also, I reached out to the insurance person at my job who is the liaison and even she can’t get ahold of the adjuster. So something’s up.

Sprained ankle, minimal swelling, maximum pain

Anyone else like me? I’m not, and never have been much of a sweller, even with serious injuries and surgeries.

I sprained my ankle last week, and while yeah it’s a little puffy, it’s more **painful** than anything.

I have my follow-up with the doctor tomorrow, and I’m worried they won’t take me seriously because my minimal swelling (that’s what has happened to me in the past—even the last time I sprained this same ankle, and ended up needing surgery)!!

But my pain honestly isn’t any better than it was a week ago, and I still step gingerly, even in the brace they gave me, which I wear at home (and I’ve worn the Aircast boot they gave me the few times I’ve left the house).

I’m a teacher, and this was a work injury—so that also makes it even higher stakes. My appointment tomorrow determines whether or not I go back to work on Tuesday…they took me out last week.

Ankle injuries absolutely blow.

The Number of Teachers Who Don't Understand "Average" Is SCARY!!

I saw a post on Facebook that contained this "Average Teacher Salary Map," and so many commenters were saying things like it's "a lie" or "inaccurate," simply because THEY make less than the stated salary on the map in their given state.

AVERAGE (aka MEAN) isn't the same as MEDIAN (the middle number in a given set of numbers) or MODE (the most commonly occurring number in a given set of numbers)...but from the comments I've read, most teachers appear to believe it is, smh.

Quick lesson: If you have 3 teachers, the AVERAGE salary is what each individual makes, added together, then divided by 3!

If one teacher makes 50k, the second teacher makes 70k, and the third teacher makes 90k, the AVERAGE salary is then 70k. That doesn't mean one teacher isn't making less than average, and one isn't making more...it's just simple MATH!!

YES, teachers should 100% be paid more overall...HOWEVER, they also shouldn't try to call BS on things that aren't necessarily BS, AND, they should understand FACTS before they try to "dispel a myth."

Am I crazy in the feeling that 40mg makes tired compared to 30mg? I mean, it’s a definite and stark difference!!

At my next check-in, I’m seriously considering asking about going back to 30mg and getting an IR afternoon booster because that seems more sensible than DRAGGING due to the 40mg!!

Has anyone else felt like this?

I bought my XM6s in January, and I'm looking to sell them. They're great, but I was recently given AirPods Max, which I find to be more comfortable and better sounding...so even though the noise-cancellation isn't as good on the AirPods Max, I prefer them.
