I am looking for a recommendation for my office book club! I joined the office last year and they are re-upping the book club and I volunteered to be in charge. It is all women and we all get along well. We work in policy so I am not looking for an overly political book or a book about work dynamics (both in mild doses would be fine). I would prefer fiction but would also be open to Sci-fi or fantasy! It would also ideally be under 400 pages. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I moved to DC in April from a midwest city that didn’t really have rats. I literally can’t get over it after the sun sets I live in fear that they will run over my feet (two have come within inches and I saw it happen to a girl I know) It makes me not want to go outside after dark :( did anyone else experience this and was able to get over it? It literally horrifies me. My friends don’t seem to be as horrified as I am.

I want to make arepa's for a dinner I am having on Wednesday. I've never made them before, but I have eaten them before and want to try making them.

I work until 5:30 and I am hosting a dinner at 6:30. Can i make the dough ahead of time and chill it? I would make a big batch to test run but can cook them the day of. Any tips would help! I am making Reina Pepiada and fried plantains :)

I just moved into my first apartment after college and want to buy a machine. My budget is ~$700. I used to have a nespresso and personally liked the quality but over time the cost and environmental impact of single use pods really adds up. My dad currently has a Gaggia Cadorna Barista Plus and while I like the interface, I personally don't find it to be the best espresso. Any opinions? I live in the U.S. I also drink only espresso drinks, typically lattes, americanos or iced lattes. I don't need it to have a crazy amount of settings.
