Upgrade from Phillips lattego 3200

Started having trouble with my 6 yr old Phillips lattego3200.
What would be the next steps up from this machine in taste quality and price? Has to have an automatic milk system/removable container. Don’t need any cold brew options or crazy fancy drinks
Let me know your guys input. Thanks.

Superautomatic machine advice - Saeco Intuita

I want to first say that I understand that I will be very limited in my results with a superauto machine, but I am limited by cost and could not have afforded a proper espresso setup myself.

I got this as a hand-me-down from a relative who was not really into coffee and therefore hadn't put much work into programming this machine.

The coffee it makes is okay....

I think I need to do some work with programming the shot length as they're currently coming out much longer than I would expect.

I'm hoping to get some general advice as to how to get the best out of a machine like this. And more specifically any guidance on the process of fine tuning how long it takes to pull a shot from it.

Thanks in advance, sorry I don't really know what I'm talking about whoops!

KitchenAid KF7 Grounds Clogging

After 14 months, my KitchenAid KF7 is clogging. The grounds do not move smoothly from the grinder into the receptacle. They quickly back up in the chute, in between, and while I can make a cup of coffee, it requires some extra effort.

Since this problem started, the machine grinds, tells me the bean hopper is empty, and stops. I have to pretend to reload the hopper and push start again. Then it grinds again, and finishes a single serving of coffee that is weaker. It will function in that manner, with me pretend-refilling the hopper each time. I reduced the amount of water and get a palatable single coffee. Double coffees function this way, with two pretend refills.

I tried purging the beans immediately after the last time I cleared the clog, and the purging simply refilled the chute, so it will be clogged again, and only half the beans that were already in the grinder were ground into the chute. It was not a purge at all, in other words.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Help me pick my next superautomatic

Hi all. I've had the kitchenaid KF8 for 8 months now, and after returning a machine, and many phone calls with support, KA have finally agreed to buyback my machine.

Here I am looking to find another SA. Replaceable hoppers turned out to be the feature I used most (I switch from caffeinated to decaf daily). Milk drinks are second most used feature.

What are the real options here? I'm open to Miele, Jura, Delonghi. What are the options?

Thanks in advance

TK Demi?

trying to move away from the kerig – I've gotten a lot of ads for the TK demi on instagram. wondering if it's the real deal or just a fad device?

I do love the look of it, if it functions just as well I'd go for it...does anyone have hands on experience with it? or similar reccos ($400-$700 range)

to note: don't need any fancy milk attachments or anything; primarily just trying to move away from the k-cup usage.

Disappointed with my new Jura E8. What could I be doing wrong?

I recently bought a new Jura E8 along with a fresh bag of coffee beans, and so far I’m honestly pretty disappointed.

I’ve played around with the grinder settings (tried 3, 2, and 1) and made espressos, cappuccinos, and flat whites, but every cup just feels flat (kind of a Nespresso taste. Nothing good really) . It lacks body and depth, and I can barely finish it because it’s just not enjoyable.

For context, I came from a Profitec + Niche Zero setup, so I know a superautomatic isn’t going to compete with a good semi-auto or a coffee shop. That said, I still expected the coffee to be good enough that I’d actually enjoy drinking it.

These are new beans that I’ve never tried before, so I don’t have a point of comparison. I know the obvious next step is to try beans I’m already familiar with, and I probably will.

But before I do that, is there anything else that could explain why the coffee tastes so underwhelming? Is there something about the E8 that I’m missing, or any settings or tips that made a big difference for you?

I’d really appreciate any advice from people who have experience with this machine.

Need advise!

Hey guys!

I have this 'old' Philips 2230 I bought when I moved out of the house. I feel I'm ready for something new and better. It's mostly milk drinks like latté's or cappuccino's ☺️

Any advise on a good, not too hard to maintain super automatic machine?

My budget is around €1000 max and I'm based in Europe!

Lately I've been looking at the Auto Barista from ninja but I feel like the reviews are a bit mixed.

Thanks for helping me out guys!

Stay Away from Ninja AutoBarista

I don’t want to seem like an average redditor who just nags and complains, but I want to give genuine advice to those browsing for a new supersonic machine.

Stay far clear from the Ninja AutoBarista. It’s tempting at its price, rave reviews, and features (removable hoppers, drip coffee, cold brew, etc.) but it’s inconsistent and strange enough it produces either the best espresso or the worst I’ve ever had in my life.

This machine is incredibly inconsistent with the coffee it makes. GrindIQ is supposed to take all the guess work out of the equation but it seems to be doing the guessing itself because it’ll make me a great espresso right after running, then when I go to make another it’s terrible-sour, horrible flow rate, with no crema.

I want to be able to turn off this feature and manually set a grind size but I am unable to. The offset setting is not enough. GrindIQ is not just a one-time click, the machine is constantly analyzing itself and adjusting and I think that’s where a lot of people’s issues are coming from. I’ve ran GrindIQ several, several times, cleaned the brew group, used a new bag of beans and this machine eats right through them. It’s been pulling 5-7 shots each time it runs and I can’t sustain it.

I’m using freshly roasted (2 week old) beans that I’ve been using for years, which is perfect because this machine relies on puck resistance rather than artificial pressure. I’m using clean, filtered water, tried cleaning the brew group and no success. I think I’m out of ideas here and superautos are supposed to quick and convenient yet this machine is making it more convenient for me to pull my hair.

I just want to warn the people interested in purchasing this machine that you may be better off with something else because it’s not just me having these issues, look at this subreddit and others. I’m going to try getting a replacement and then simply returning if it doesn’t work out again, but it shouldn’t even have to come to that.

I wanted to love this machine and SharkNinja usually has great products but this one should’ve stayed a bit longer on the drawing board.

TL;DR: Inconsistent, makes best and worst espresso. GrindIQ is doing too much guessing between pulls and I’m not able to manually adjust. Will try replacing because I want to love the machine, will return if it doesn’t work out. Will edit/update in few weeks

Best superautomatic for a coffee bar without a sink

We are doing a closet buildout with a coffee bar. I just want to walk a few feet and grab my morning long shot of espresso so I can wake up. No sink so I don’t want it complicated but I do want to get away from pods. I like having a variety of options and not being constrained to what a brand offers. I also want to stay around $600 because I want to buy a Breville Touch Impress or DeLonghi (cross that bridge later) for downstairs in a year when I have more time and can enjoy the process and not just the ritual of drinking coffee. I also want the machine to be visually appealing so it fits with this space. I’m overwhelmed looking for something so would like input. I almost bought the SMEG bean to cup but my daughter said the silver and jade green clashed. Here is a AI rendering of the space with the cabinets we ordered.

Jura E8 Review: Premium Price, Repeated Failures, and a Very Disappointing Ownership Experience

I purchased my Jura E8 in December 2023 because I believed I was investing in one of the best fully automatic espresso machines on the market. Given Jura’s premium reputation and premium price, I expected exceptional quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Unfortunately, my ownership experience has been anything but premium.
Within the first two years, I had to send the machine three times to Jura’s service center in Philadelphia for warranty repairs. Shortly after the third repair, the machine failed again. Rather than replacing it with a new unit, Jura sent me a refurbished replacement.
Now, that refurbished machine has also failed. The espresso function—the feature we use most—no longer works, making the machine incapable of performing its primary purpose.
What makes this especially frustrating is that we have taken exceptional care of this machine. We perform the recommended cleaning cycles, use Jura-approved cleaning products, use the recommended coffee beans, and follow every maintenance instruction exactly as outlined by the manufacturer. This has never been a case of misuse or neglect.
At this point, I am simply exhausted. I have spent far too much time contacting customer support, packaging and shipping the machine across the country, waiting weeks for repairs, and then dealing with yet another failure. For a premium espresso machine costing thousands of dollars, this level of unreliability is simply unacceptable.
Each time I contacted support, the conversation seemed to focus on whether the machine had been properly maintained, placing the burden on me to rule out user error. That has been particularly frustrating because we have diligently followed every maintenance recommendation, used Jura-approved cleaning products, completed all required cleaning cycles, and used the recommended coffee beans. The issue has never been a lack of maintenance—it has been the repeated failure of the machine itself. Premium customer service should recognize the difference between improper care and recurring product defects, especially after multiple warranty repairs and a refurbished replacement have already failed.
The most disappointing part is that Jura chose to replace my original machine with a refurbished unit that has now developed serious problems of its own. As a loyal customer, I expected a lasting solution—not another machine that would fail after a relatively short period of use.
I purchased Jura because I wanted a dependable, high-end coffee machine that my family could enjoy for many years. Instead, I have experienced repeated breakdowns, multiple warranty repairs, a refurbished replacement, and ongoing reliability issues. The amount of time, inconvenience, and frustration this machine has caused has completely overshadowed the enjoyment it was supposed to provide.
I sincerely hope Jura takes a closer look at the long-term reliability of the E8 and reevaluates how it supports customers who experience repeated product failures. Premium brands are defined not only by the quality of their products, but by their willingness to stand behind them when those products repeatedly fail. Customers who invest in a premium machine deserve confidence that it will perform reliably for years—not concern that they may be shipping it back for service every few months.
Sadly, my experience has left me with little confidence in either the long-term reliability of the Jura E8 or the value of investing in a premium Jura machine. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Jura E8 to prospective buyers. I hope my experience encourages Jura to improve both the reliability of its products and the way it supports customers facing repeated product failures.

Williams Sonoma purchase?

Our local Williams Sonoma here it’s pretty good. I was thinking of purchasing an espresso machine however I’ve heard some negative comments around this. Just wondering if everybody’s had a bad experience with Williams Sonoma?

Eletta Explore vs. Ninja Auto barista Pro

I'm looking to buy a superautomatic in this price range. Coming from Sage Barista Pro, I just want a convenient experience that will provide a result similar to Sage. Mostly drink milk drinks or filter coffee when I don't drink espresso. What are main differences between the two in your experience? They seem too close and they are both recommended devices.

Wanted: Low Maintenance Dual Beans Superautomatic

I'm looking for an automatic coffee machine, that makes great espressos, offers space for two types of beans (regular/decaf) and is low maintenance/easy to clean.

I looked at the

- Jura J8 Twin

- Ninja AutoBarista Pro

Budget is not a constraint, but I don't want the machine to be huge...

I am located in Germany.

Which one of the above makes the better espressos? And is there a another option to add to the list?

De’longhi

I went to purchase the Eletta but it looks like the summer sale is not available anymore on their site or ended yesterday. I can purchase elsewhere at the sale price still through end of day today but was hoping to get the extra 10% off for subscribing to their newsletter. anyone run into this issue/had luck with customer service price matching?

Z10 or Oracle Jet

Currently, we have a super-automatic, and I have been thinking about what to get for my next coffee machine as an upgrade in coffee quality. Until last week, I was between the DeLonghi PrimaDonna Aromatic ($2200) and the Jura Z10 ($4500). I thought even if the Z10 produces 20% better drinks, I am willing to pay double the price, but then I discovered the Breville Oracle Jet and how easy it is to use. It appears to be so close to a super-automatic and at $3200 is cheaper than the Z10. On top of all that, the grinder adjustment appears to be much easier for when changing bean types, which we do often. The Oracle Jet will also prompt you to adjust the grinder as your beans age if you do take longer to finish them!

All reading and watching reviews point to the fact that the Oracle Jet would produce much better coffee than the Jura Z10. Is this true? Has anyone had experience with both? My main concern with the Oracle Jet is how much mess it makes when cleaning the portafilter. Is it as easy as advertised? I am also considering getting the (greatly named) Puck Sucker.

Edit: Prices are from Australia.

Suggestions for under $2000

Hi!
I currently use Nespresso Original Lattisima and looking to upgrade to a super automatic coffee machine. Do you have a recommendation for someone who:

  1. I like to drink lots of lattes (not flavored, cows milk)
  2. My SO likes iced americanos

So want something that makes both good espresso and milk based drinks
We also want something that is as quiet as possible due to an infant at home. Bonus if it doesn’t require a lot of tuning.

Looking for recommendations under $2000
Thanks in advance

KitchenAid KF2 or 3 purchase advice

Hello everyone! Looking for advice on a purchase. I’m considering the KitchenAid KF2 or 3. one of the DeLonghi’s in the $400-$700 price range are also possible. There are good sales going on right now.
Up until now I have only made coffee at home using Keurig but over the last year I switched to pour over method and sometimes French Press for taste reasons. When I’m out I will buy a latte now and then.

Has anyone gone from pour over coffee where you can control your outcome to the Kitchenaid? Or the De’Longhi?.

I understand the flavor may never be quite as good as with a pour over but I’m really just hoping it’s still better than using pods. I use ground coffee at the moment so hoping the fresh beans will also help improve the taste.
