Its time for change karachiites
I am truly fed up with Karachi and what it has become. But I believe change has to start from our own streets and neighbourhoods.
Along with a few neighbours, we decided to take the initiative instead of simply complaining. We negotiated with KWSB and restored fresh water to our area, cleared outstanding bills, repaired potholes, installed streetlights, strengthened security, and are now working on improving the overall look and feel of our society.
There were plenty of problems and obstacles along the way, but we stayed united, had a plan, and kept pushing. And now, I genuinely believe that change is possible when communities come together.
We are already in contact with the DC and Town Chairman regarding the encroachments outside our society on the main road, and we are also working on a plantation drive in the vacant spaces along the roads.
This is how change starts. You don’t always need to wait for the government. Start with your own street, your neighbourhood, and your community. Organize, take responsibility, and do what you can.
Because if we keep waiting for the government to fix everything, nothing will change. We have to be the ones to bring the change.
