Speaker I just scored from the city flea market for 15€

Don’t know what is the correlation with iPod users and Tron fans, but I’m definitely going to listen to some good biodigital jazz ( ^ω^ ) before having lunch

[22/M] From Italy: looking for people to romanticise life with and to talk about my hyper specific hobbies ( ^ω^ )

Hi! I’m an Italian boy who has moved all around the country throughout his childhood and, because of that, has learned how to look at life soft spokenly, with melancholic undertones, but with casual spurs of excitement and hyperfixation: that’s why I think it would be fun exchanging letters with me, I can bring all kinds of mood to the table (and also I’m good at improvising cunning dad jokes) 🙃

I’ve got many interest at the moment (maybe too much) and so I think it’s fair to share them with a little bit of organisation:

🎵 Singing, writing short verses, collecting vinyls, cds and mixtapes, playing around with my modded iPod and listening to niche indie pop/rock or folk music

🎮 I really like playing city builders and strategy games (in particular Cities Skylines, Age of Empires and Civilisation), PlayStation exclusives, indie games and Pokemon. Also I really like to collect, repair and mod vintage electronics

🎨 I’m into knitting, sewing, modelling clay and wax, carving wood, collecting stationery, writing and most of all drawing on my tablet✨

🎞️ I usually watch animation (even indie), comic book movies, cult movies, anime and I’m a really big fan of visual effects and soundtracks

📚 I really like reading sci fi novels, comics, manga, historical fiction, essays and classical literature (both in the modern and ancient sense)

If there’s something for you, then I would gladly discuss first in small friendly messages to acquaint ourselves and then maybe later trough long curated emails and letters.
I hope of hearing from some of you soon!

(Also I don’t really have preferences in matter of ages, so don’t worry if you have double mine, lol)

Best cosmetic parts for a 6th gen NOT FROM AMERICA

Soo… I’ve got my first iPod classic during a visit in Japan and decided to mod it with the standard iFlash + 3000mAh mods and bought the parts from EOE.com… but I’m located in Europe and so I had to pay the extra 30€ tariff.
Also I noticed I didn’t really have the correct opening tool for the modding process and was thinking… I already have to buy new tools… maybe I could also buy a cool new faceplate and scrollwheel.

Then I was wondering: where could I find good quality cosmetic parts for my iPod from non American sellers? I was thinking of going for a blue faceplate and white scrollwheel combo.

Are spudgers included when you buy an iFlash from Elite Obsolete Electronics?

I want to do my first two iPod mods/repair (battery and memory upgrade on my 6th gen classic and battery and screen replacement in my 2nd gen nano) and wanted to know if the recommended (and branded) tools are included when you buy an iFlash kit from Elite Obsolete Electronics (specifically the quad) or if you should add them to the cart separately.

Also, if you could, I wanted to ask if there were cheap brands of double sided and electrical tape, foam pads and electronics repair glue on Amazon you guys would recommend me to buy for my mods.

I’ve attached also a sketch of the second iteration of the design and a “concept diagram” of the whole thing (my electronics knowledge is veeeeeery limited).

As said in my previous post, this is the description of the device:

The concept itself came to me by fawning upon old Walkman Sports and an old limited edition Casio I bought in Tokyo.

Basically it’s just a dock which also functions as a really rugged cover: you slide in your iPod classic, close the Walkpod and get access to the sequent quality of life improvements:

- a Bluetooth transmitter

- a stereo (works when no headphones are plugged or connected)

- an internal battery

- a belt strap for attaching it to your belt with style

- significantly stronger protection against scratches or other possibile injuries

- direct access to the iPod original buttons trough holes in the acrylic panel

- a usb type c and an apple 30 pin connector for charging the Walkpod’s battery (who in return directly charges the inserted iPod) and syncing the iPod to iTunes

- the device works even when the battery is empty (outside of stereo or Bluetooth functionality)

I wanted to take a classic icon of the 2000’s and transplant it in the cassette futurism aesthetic (which is my favourite when talking about retro futurism): I hope you liked my concept :-)

Also I wanted to clarify that I don’t know if this is similar to something that already exists or if it’s also feasible to build in real life (if it would be I wouldn’t have the capabilities to develop it either way); it’s just a fun fictional concept I hope can be liked and inspiring to those who see it
