Neighbour Uncle stopped talking to me after I cleared a government officer exam

I have a neighbour uncle who lives 2 houses away from my home with his family. He has 3 kids, 2 girls and a boy, the middle one is of my age and other two are 2 years elder and 2 years younger than me respectively. I am not close with his kids but last heard that they were prepping for bank exams.

So he has a habit of always asking me about my academics, marks, exams, my future plans, etc, He is not too nosy but sometimes frustrating. I have been living here since my school days so he has developed this habit since then.

Few days ago, i was out on my evening walk, my dad was 10-15 steps behind and busy on phone. And viola out of nowhere uncle appears. He usually talks to my dad first but obviously he started talking to me today. Same old questions, beta kaisi chal rhi hai padhai, kon se exams diye, kya result aaya, iss sal kon se form bhare, etc.

But this time things were different, although I wanted my dad to convey this news but anyway I told him ki I have cleared 2 class 1 govt. exams and I have to go for training next month. The look on his face changed and change of tone was sudden. He suddenly started walking faster and didn't say anything except "good beta" and left hurriedly.

Ever since that day he tries to avoid me, never talks to me. I have noticed this on multiple occasions. Its a different thing that I don't initiate conversation either.

Pata Hai Aaj Kya Hua, he changed path of walk after seeing me and my dad from distance. I respect Uncle and I am sure there is no malice there but I really don't understand why someone who was so much interested in my career suddenly act like this. I have known him for years and know he is deliberately avoiding me since not a week goes where we he doesn't inquires me about my career.

TLDR/Short Summary: Neighbour Uncle stopped talking to me after my govt exam results. Now he deliberately changes path to avoid me and suddenly changed his behaviour.

Some people don’t realise how lucky 🍀 they are

So this is basically an analogy between my life and that of my distant relative. Some of you may also find this relatable.

A distant relative of mine, let’s call him A. A and I am are of almost same age.

My father is in government servic. I studied hard throughout from a good school, cracked a competitive entrance exam to get into a very reputed prestigious government university. Worked hard in college to keep up the CGPA, was awarded gold medal. After completing my degree, prepped throughly for multiple government exams from home along with masters. Cut myself off social media, stopped attending any social functions or parties, stopped going out although for months. It was just me and my small study room all this time. After immense dedication, hardwork, uncertainty ,self doubt and never ending mock tests, I was able to clear multiple government service exams. Chose to go for NIACL AO at the end.

On the other hand A’s father is a businessman. A went for some private college after getting modest marks in school. Did Bcom from a college nobody ever heard about. The only reason he went there was because nobody cared their about attendance and all you had to do was read dukki and sit for exams at the end of every semester. He enjoyed his youth to the fullest. Partied, toured various place, stayed with friends in another city, attended social functions, celebrated festivals, enjoyed and lived a chill life. After he turned 25, his father handed him keys to a new shop which his father had bought for him. He had everything from day 1, doesn’t have to toil. Closes shop whenever he want, earns decent too. His father is an established businessman and handed over a shop to each of his son.

Now A is getting married and has an established life. Soon he will start a family too. I am very happy for him. In fact we are very good friend. But the thing that sometimes keeps me startled is why so much difference in our path?

Why does one class has to face the toughest competition at national level and other does not.

No offence to business class people, I know they work hard too but the government jobs are getting harder and harder each year with cut offs touching sky and people investing as much as even 8-10 years of their peak years.

Is A really lucky or is he missing something service class like us take for granted.

TLDR: Analogy between lives of Govt jobs are aspirants and people born into business class families.

Who is better student in terms of academics and general knowledge?

Enough of unfair academic comparisons between Nobita, Kenichi and Mitsuo. Lets have one of the closest debate in the history of anime!

Who is better student out of Dekisugi and Kiteretsu?

The criteria will be mainly academic performance, research skills, creativity and general knowledge about surroundings but you may also use other relevant criteria.

The house stands open for debates!🎉

Showering positivity because you guys deserve it ✨

Doing this post because lately, I have felt that many aspirants silently come to this sub for some motivation and positivity, but at times get harassed by negative portrayal of bank jobs. 🥲

First of all, dear aspirants, be proud of yourselves for choosing to be part of one of the most demanding and competitive exams. You didn’t back out even after knowing about the nature of these exams. You went in with your heads high and chests puffed out, putting in immense dedication. 👏🏻

You guys could have opted for comparatively faster and less competitive paths like private jobs, an MBA, or business, which, although quicker to get into, don’t offer the perks and stability of a government job.

I have seen many people starting a business with their parents’ money or even being born with a silver spoon called an “established family business,“ where their struggle was negligible. They may never understand what you go through every day. (Not insulting any profession, just saying they had an easier way).

But believe me, at the end of the day, every struggle or pain you take will disappear once you are successful. Your anxiety will be replaced by confidence, struggle will be overshadowed by respect, and crisis will be overcome by social recognition. Yes, Bank jobs may be hectic at times, but it’s 100 times better than being laid off at any random time in the private sector and living under the constant fear of being sacked. Also, not all bank jobs are hectic; it depends heavily on your posting location.

Lastly, I would like to repeat that line from Jeetu Sir in Kota Factory (but with a little twist):

"Jab target khud choose kiya hai na... toh drama bhi khud hi jhelna padega. Jab Govt. job karne ka faisla tumhara tha, toh ab rona kis baat ka? Taiyari bhi tumhari hai, sangharsh bhi tumhara hai, aur safalta bhi tumhari hi hogi."

Keep up the good work, guys! A beautiful world with financial stability and dignity is waiting for you! ❣️
