Dexter Vs the Yorkshire Dales

Off-lead moments were fleeting; three rabbits appeared the first time we let him off and he was straight over the river to (not) get them.

It always makes me realise how much energy they really have; 10 miles of walking a day and there's no chilling out in the beer garden afterwards. Although back to the hotel room and he's snoring for 12 hours straight.

Total dude, in his absolute element in the glorious North.

Reprofiling advice

So. I got this absolutely lovely 240mm gyuto made to spec by Nottingham Kinfeworks; can recommend; Bernard's great.

The only issue is, unlike myself, there's not much belly; when rock chopping it kind of sticks in the board.

If I sent it back to Bernard, he'd sort it, but I'm up for doing it myself. In the past I've taken chips out of knives on my belt sander, so assume it's just a case of rocking it back and forth, and creating that curve, whilst keeping it cool. Anyone got any tips?

Gracias 🙏

Proper cherries, a few available, what are you doing?

Context: Midlands village. Young tree. Front (open) lawn/garden. Stealing doesn't involve encroaching on garden space, pickable from the road. Unlikely to be caught as other foliage blocks windows.

Me, bad. Ate 4. Delicious.

Saw homeowner this morning and they were cheery (cherry?) enough, I've got away with it.

Am I overthinking this?

*Quick edit; if too many people take this as a serious moral dilemma I'm deleting the post. Jeeeez...

Time for change

So, we got this about 8 years ago, I (46M, English and lazy) left it uncovered and sometime last year I turned it on, and there was no power. I've looked into replacing the controller, but being in England the higher voltage ones required are tricky to get hold of, and I'm not even sure it'll work. The Traeger annoyed me too, nothing more annoying than leaving your pork on overnight to wake up and find the pellets had got stuck in the hopper and the thing had turned off mid-cook.

We're getting the patio done, I explained this to my wife, and she said "why don't you just treat yourself to something new?" Married the right one, obviously...

It has to be something available in the UK, and with good support, and around £1500 (or $1500 US)

I know what I'm leaning towards, but as with anything these days, you read good things and bad things and it becomes difficult to know yer arse from your elbow..

I'm not looking for lots of opinions to confuse me further, what's your one product answer?

Thanks all 🙏

Beagling

Always see Americans posting "I'm going to the UK, visiting London and Edinburgh, what should I do?"

Fly to London, drive to the Yorkshire dales; enjoy the best of the UK, with the friendliest people. I'd probably recommend getting full car insurance because you're not gonna be ready for these roads....

Can't guarantee the weather, but if you get lucky you're having the most amazing walks, pints of beautifully kept beer in fantastic surroundings, and top tier gastro pubs.

If you need to borrow a beagle, hit me up!

When we told people we were getting a beagle puppy, almost everyone had a negative opinion of them (despite 90% of people never encountering one, probably)

"Hard to train"

"Follow their noses"

"Destroy everything"

"Ruled by food"

Etc.

Nope, not having it. Obviously they are all those things, but humans aren't always that easy either. I'm now a fully paid up member of the cult of beagle, give me another one.

Free Spring fun! (Food and drinks are not free, sadly)

A celebration of Mexico. Live music, fun and games for the kids. There'll be cocktails, flowing beer, burgers and burritos at Crafty.

Everyone's welcome, come and say hola! 🌯🇲🇽🍸🍻

Ps. Don't worry about the flyer too much. The event will be hosted by real people, and the food and drink will be lovingly prepared.
