MCAT Question

I posted this elsewhere but I think people missed the point with it and I think its been a fun debate question with my premed friends lol

For sake of this question, assume IP Ontario. No ties to any other province.

Question: Which applicant has a better chance for medical school in Canada as an IP Ontario.

Applicant 1: 131/128/131/131 (521 overall, 128 CARS)
Applicant 2: 127/130/127/127 (511 overall, 130 CARS)

Applying to every school in Canada (that allows OOP applicants that is)

Canadians who got into USMD?

What MCAT score did you have. What is a good score to shoot for. Not doing too well right now so I was just wondering lol.

Also for Canada, realistically, after 127 on science sections (western cutoff), it doesn't matter AT ALL right (except CARS). Is this correct?

EDIT:
Also, fun question, would you guys rather have a 520 MCAT (128 CARS) or like 510 MCAT (130 CARS).

PANKOW OR MILESDOWN?!?! 2 months left.

I am 2 months out from my exam and I haven't touched P/S.

I have taken Psych in undergrad and I do retain a decent amount to where I can logic stuff out kinda.

I took diagnostic half length blueprint and got 127 Psych, but ik thats inflated but just as a benchmark.

In my case, should I do Pankow PS or Milesdown PS.

How Representative is the Blueprint Half Length Diagnostic?

I just took the Blueprint Half Length Diagnostic after content review, and got a 503.

I have 2 months left of studying (full time tho) before MCAT so I was wondering if its possible to get in the 515+ range

GOOD MCAT SCORE for A Canadian Applicant.

For a Canadian applicant with a good GPA, Average ECs, what is a good MCAT to shoot for. Not US citizen.

Im asking since ik admissions requirements for Canadians are different, and most schools don't accept Canadians.

510+, 515+, 520+??

What score is like I need to rewrite basically?

What MCAT do you need for CAN MED??

What MCAT score do you need in Canada. Im asking since ik most schools don't use it competitively (aside from CARS).

Aside from CARS (which I need to try to max out), what is the minimum score for the other 3 sections I need for Ontario and OOP schools that Ontario people can apply to?

Is Western the highest at around 127 for everything?

Anyone Score way better on JW then AAMC?

I haven't done AAMC yet btw, but I just wanted to know if this has been the case for anyone?

For reference, I score around 83% on JW when I do multiple in a row.

Everyone around me says you should NOT highlight, but I don't understand why.

Maybe it has to do with how some people use the highlighting feature, so here is how I use it personally and tell if I should stop/continue with my current strategy?

For me, I use it as a tool to pay attention while reading. I highlight key "claims" and stuff made by the author or passage, the big picture, and I do it while reading using the keyboard shortcut.

Sometimes I need to slow down or reread a sentence if it’s central to the main idea and I don’t fully understand it at first. Once I do understand it, I highlight it. In that sense, highlighting is part of my process for working through the passage and making sure I’m actually comprehending it. I don’t highlight anything unless I understand it and believe it’s important.

I don't have a goal with highlighting. I don't try to highlight key dates/names or anything like that necessarily, I just highlight important arguments/claims as I try to understand the passage.

When I move on to the questions, though, I don’t rely on my highlights at all. I don’t go back to them or use them to find information more quickly. In fact, I barely even notice them. I treat the entire text as the same tbh.

If the highlights were removed after I finished reading, it wouldn’t affect my performance. For me, highlighting is purely a way to stay engaged and process the text in the moment, not something I depend on afterward.

Is this a poor use of highlighting or no? Should I try to slowly transfer to no highlighting? I have time till my test date so I am more than happy to try various things as much as possible.

Also, I sometimes highlight the word "NOT" in question stems as well lmaoooo.

BTW: I can read the passage without highlighting at all as well, but it takes more "cognitive load" on my brain (idk if that makes sense)

I wanted to watch Yusuf Hasan initially, but he removed his old videos and his new video playlist for Biochem is like weirdly formatted (like random order and some sections feel missing but plz correct me if im wrong)

Currently, I have near 0 knowledge in either of these subjects. Will watching all her videos suffice? Afterwards, I can spam anki to retain
