8k to invest - advice?

19M, just starting out.

my “ portfolio “ is just a result of me thinking “ if something has an 8+ piotroski score its a multibagger “ 😭 i also looked into the investment presentations and stuff but i doubt my ability to infer anything, i kinda just went with it, prolly cuz i was excited to start lol..

anyway main point is i have 8k ( and maybe the 3k from my 🔥portfolio🔥) this month, and i wanna put it into something.

open to any advice, tips, gaali-galoch, resources or whatever else :)

i have a separate plan to invest 2.5 k pm till i graduate ( which would be about 1 lakh in total, so tell me something about that as well..

advice for non-tech career after engineering

Hello everyone,

I just finished my first year of btech in ai at an nit. After talking to several seniors and other people with relevant background, I find myself in a bit of a slump. The excitement I had before starting college is gone. The environment here feels incredibly jeefied and honestly, I’m exhausted. I don't think I have it in me to just grind leetcode and sde prep for the next three years. I'm defo in the bottom half of my class when it comes to coding / dsa etc.

According to my college's placement brochure, ~30% of roles are Software/IT and ~20% of roles are consulting, Analytics, trading, finance, and banking.

I want to focus my time and effort entirely toward that 20% of non-tech/quant roles..

I have a few questions for those who have taken this path

  1. Certifications & Prep: Are there specific professional certifications (like CFA, FRM, etc.) or distinct career paths I should start looking into right now?
  2. Skillset: What should I be building instead of standard software dev skills to make myself competitive for these roles?
  3. Reality Check: Is pivoting away from tech this early a good decision overall?

I am completely open to constructive criticism if you think I'm looking at this the wrong way, but I would really appreciate your insights and guidance to help me figure this out.
