Please help me find a turn-based jrpg where characters move in a grid (turn-based) but when they attack an enemy, the gameplay changes to a side-scrolling brawl where you control the character. One of the memorable characters is a person who can stretch his limbs.

My brother and I played this before and this game is not that famous compared to Fire Emblem and the likes, but we really loved this game. This is also not One Piece, Shaman King, nor Super Robot Taisen, as what Google AI answered.

I'm trying to watch endless lists of gba jrpgs but they don't mention this certain game.
