Can anyone recommend books reminiscent in theme to the movie The Endless? I really enjoy Benson and Moorhead's style of sort of 'grounded' sci-fi (as opposed to more like Star Trek sci-fi). Cult stuff is great too. Thank you!

I (M32) and my wife (F30) are struggling to split our expenses. My wife and I live in the UK, where she moved from the US to be with me. She had a strong career where she made six figures in the US but has been struggling for several years to find a job in the UK despite having an Ivy League MA. She's also had significant mental health issues since being in the UK, exacerbated by being so far from family and friends. She has significantly more in savings than me but no income, and feels I should cover all of our expenses. We split the mortgage evenly which she is fine with. I think she should contribute more since she has more money and she thinks I should cover expenses because I have income. She's about to start a PhD where she won't have any opportunities to make income for the next four years and poor job prospects after that. What do we do?
TL;DR: My wife has no job but more money; I have a good job but little savings. How do we divide expenses.
