How do you get your first customers after launching an app or website?

Hey everyone,

I recently launched my application on playstore and my website too. But now i am confused on how to get my first users. I am from a tech background so it was easy for me to code and create a website and application. But now i see that was the most easiest part.

I created an application which is basically for travellers and road trippers. It helps you to create and share routes. You can add custom viewpoints between you start and end destination. In short it is kind of route planning application.

Now the problem is that how and where do i get my users form. I mean i dont have a single clue about marketing. and how do you get started with that
SO anyone here please do help me and share your suggestions.

Built a road trip app for India it's early, rough around the edges, and we genuinely need your help to make it worth using

Hey everyone,

I'm building an Android app called Tempadora, a road trip and travel discovery app where people record routes, add hidden spots, and help other travellers find places that never show up on Google Maps.

I specifically want people from Himachal to be the first to use it. Because you know the places nobody else does.

The problem we all see every season:

Manali, Shimla, Kasol same roads, same jams, same overcrowded viewpoints. Tourists pile onto the same three routes not because those are the only good places, but because nobody told them anything else exists.

Meanwhile Himachal has hundreds of places, Tirthan, Barot, Chail, the smaller villages in Spiti, trails inside Kullu, temples and fields in Kangra that are sitting completely off the tourist map. Local dhabas, homestays and small businesses in those areas get nothing, not because they aren't worth visiting, but because there's no discovery layer pointing people there.

What the app does:

  • Record your route as you travel mountain roads, treks, anything
  • Add hotspots that dhaba only locals know, the viewpoint with no crowd, the campsite with no signal but the best sky you've ever seen
  • Other travellers discover those hotspots and actually go there
  • Routes are shareable so people can navigate them directly

How this helps with overtourism:

When a tourist arrives in Himachal, they go where it's famous because they have no idea what else is there. If locals add their area's hidden spots and alternate routes to Tempadora, tourist traffic naturally spreads:

  • Someone who would have gone to Manali ends up in Barot instead
  • Kasol pressure reduces because Tirthan shows up as a real alternative with real local recommendations
  • Small villages and local businesses get footfall they never had
  • Famous spots get some breathing room — better for the environment, better for people who actually live there

No government scheme. No top-down planning. Just community data doing what it's supposed to do.

What I'm asking for:

The app is early. There will be bugs. Things aren't perfect yet which is exactly why I want honest feedback now before I build the wrong things.

  • Download the app
  • Add one hotspot from your area , any place you think deserves to be known
  • Tell me: what spots near you are completely overlooked but absolutely worth visiting?
  • And tell me what the app needs before you'd actually use it regularly

Himachal's hidden places can only be discovered if people from Himachal put them on the map. I'm just building the platform where that data does something useful.

What's the best place you've found completely by accident

I'm not talking about famous viewpoints or places you planned to visit.

I mean the places that weren't on your itinerary at all.

Maybe you took the wrong road. Maybe your bike broke down. Maybe you stopped for chai because it started raining. Maybe a local told you to drive another 10 minutes.

And somehow, that unexpected stop became the most memorable part of your trip.

I'd love to hear those stories.

Not looking for a list of tourist attractions. I'm curious about the moments where getting lost led to finding something you never would have planned.

Thinking of creating a tourism app

.Hey there folks. I am from Karanpryag and thinking of creating an application to divert tourist to other places in uttrakhand. Like char dham is not the only place in uttrakhand. And char dham is for people who are coming for pilgrimage, not for people who want to spend a weekend and that's all. So I was thinking of creating an app that could help us divert tourist to other parts, so that we tourist can select places according to their intrest and explore other places. This would also help in crowd management and boosting local tourism in other parts of uttrakhand and india. What do you think .

And char dham is for people who are coming for pilgrimage, not for people who want to spend a weekend and that's all. Also recent events urges us to maintain the sanctity of our pilgrimage sites. So I was thinking of creating an app that could help us divert tourist to other parts, so that we tourist can select places according to their intrest and explore other places. This would also help in crowd management and boosting local tourism in other parts of uttrakhand and india. What do you think .

I mean then only tourist who want to genuinely go to temple would go there. And other people who are here for leisure activities or spending weekends or adventure would go to those specific spots and not to temples only.

So what do youthink about this
