Visited Brunei on a Whim. One of My Favorite Quiet Getaways.

Just wanted to share my quick trip to Brunei. I decided to visit on a whim, WHY NOT? I'd seen posts saying Brunei is boring, but since I prefer tranquility, it was one of the best trips: less crowded, no nightlife, and liquor and vapes are not allowed (or are banned). One pro is that prices are cheap (Less than $1 per meal). Some cons are that public transportation is limited (but cheap, less than $1 per trip), and stores close early (starting at 6 in the evening). They do have an app where you can book a car anytime. Here are some pictures I took during my stay.

Things to do:
Kampong Ayer (world’s largest water village)
Istana Nurul Iman (world's largest palace)
Beaches: Serasa & Muara
Recreational Parks: Kota Batu Archaeological Park & Tasek Lama
Museums
Mosques (outdoor only)
The Empire of Brunei
Jerudong Park Playground

I saw this cat on my way home, stretching and settling back to sleep. This was me on weekends. Haha

Taipei in the Rain: Historic Streets, Temples, and Dumplings

A storm rolled into Taipei shortly after I arrived, turning the trip into a rainy-day adventure. These photos are from Lungshan Temple, Ximen Red House, Bopiliao Historic Block, Taipei 101, a few themed convenience stores, and a stop for steaming xiaolongbao. The rain made the historic streets moodier, the temples calmer, and the food even more comforting.

P.S. Taipei milk tea is OG, rain or shine. ☔🧋

Mountains and plains from above

Took this photo from a plane window. It was amazing to see the mountains slowly turn into wide open plains. Seeing the land from this height really shows how big and beautiful our world is. ✈️🏔️🌾

If you see him begging for food, don’t feed him. He’s already had 2 bowls. 🤣😁😆

Beautiful butterfly I saw while trekking in Brunei

Saw this butterfly while trekking in Brunei's recreational park. It stopped by the trail for a few seconds, just enough for a photo, before flying off. One of those simple moments that made the trek even more memorable.🦋

Matcha for 1

I’m starting to explore different matcha flavors because it’s healthier than coffee, but I can’t seem to stay away from coffee.

Beyond the Skyline - Hong Kong

Most people picture Hong Kong as a city of skyscrapers, but some of my favorite moments were far from the skyline. These photos were taken across Lantau Island and Hong Kong Island, from the stilt-house fishing village of Tai O and the rugged slopes of Lantau Peak to the serene halls of Po Lin Monastery and the playful atmosphere of Ocean Park. What made the day memorable wasn't any single landmark; it was how quickly the scenery changed. Within hours and days, I went from coastal villages and mountain views to ornate temples and a steaming bowl of beef noodle soup, experiencing a side of Hong Kong that felt both deeply traditional and full of surprises.

Why Study.com is worth it imo

Just finished my first month. Went with the college saver plan since I wasn't sure how it would go. For $95 i transferred 4 courses already.

Also, I kept seeing people say exams are proctored, but I think they changed that? At least in my experience, it wasn't an issue.

One thing to watch out for:
- Not every course transfers to every program. I made sure with my advisor first.

Just checking if i should go for the pro plan this time.

Fukuoka Recommendations

Traveling to Fukuoka, Japan, for a few days soon and looking for all the recommendations! Ideally, I'd love places that are walkable from the Tenjin or Hakata area, but I'm also happy to take the subway or buses. I’m really into active things and exploring local history and culture. I'd also love any must-try restaurants, especially local specialties or hidden gems. Also, I'd appreciate any advice on what clothes to pack for this time of year, especially considering Fukuoka's late spring/early summer weather (heat, humidity, and possible rain). Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
