How common are delays/cancellations?

Hi,
I booked flights with Wizz Air for the first time from Turku, Finland to Vilnius, Lithuania. After reading some of the stories here about cancelled flights, I’m starting to get a little worried.

We are only staying in Vilnius for five nights (July 23rd–28th), with our outbound flight being an evening flight on July 23rd. Because our trip is quite short, I’m concerned that a cancellation/delay could ruin a large part of our holiday.

If necessary, we could travel from Helsinki to Tallinn by ferry and then drive to Vilnius (7hours or so), but that would still mean losing at least the first days of our vacation.

To make things worse, I booked our hotel without a cancellation option (I know, that was a stupid mistake and one I won’t make again).

So I have a few questions:

- How common are flight cancellations with Wizz Air?
- Is there any way to predict or anticipate them?
- Are some routes cancelled more often than others?
- How much notice do passengers usually get if a flight is cancelled?
- If Wizz Air cancels a flight, do they simply offer a refund, or do they also arrange alternative flights to the destination?

Thank you everyone for any advice or experiences you can share. I’m probably just worrying too much, but I’m really afraid that our family holiday could end up being spoiled. 😔

P.S. English is not my first language, so I used AI to help with the translation of this post.
