Long story short, my last pharmacy said I would have to find another one because they could not fill my Creon prescription again. They did it one time, but they said it was not profitable for them to do so in the future.

So, I went to another pharmacy, they too filled it. However, they said the total cost was $11,000 for a three month prescription and they may not fill it next time. My cost was about $105 because I have really good state (retired) insurance and Medicare.

They said this may be the last time they fill it because they’re going to lose money on it.

Question - how could the pharmacy be losing money on such a big order? Has anyone encountered this and do you know of a BIG chain that will fill it?

Living with the hell that goes with longterm chronic pancreatitis, I’m not despondent or hopeless, but some moments during the days I feel like I’m slowly dying.

At times, it can be pretty visible around my family and friends that I have pain and other issues, especially during all the acute pancreatitis hospitalizations, but I try not to say anything about it so they don’t live the day-by-day blows that I take each day from this F’ed up disease. I don’t want to have them feel fear about my condition or feel sorry for me. I hate it. But sometimes I think I need to talk about how I really feel so I don’t silently suffer all the time.

Does anyone else feel what I’m describing? I’m curious how y’all deal with how or what to share without sharing too much of the feelings you have about the pancreatic disease you have?

Hope everyone‘s doing well, anyone here with end stage chronic pancreatitis have 3C diabetes and did you make a decision to use the Dexcom insulin monitoring and a pump insulin microdose injecting product? Has it worked ok with you? Is there anything I’d need to know that you didn’t know when you started it that you wish you had? Take care.
