NOTD :)
It's been a while since I posted a NOTD. My pinkie had an accident with the laundry basket 😢
This is Sassy Sauce "Irish Goodbye", which is just lovely.
I only found out what an "Irish Goodbye" is last year, lol. I have a large Irish Catholic family and we all take a zillion years to say goodbye. I thought it meant an extended goodbye, but apparently that's just a Midwestern thing.
Apparently it's when you up and disappear, which I have only done when out barhopping with friends and was over it and didn't feel like going to the next destination. And that was like 20 years ago, lol.
This was a PBE overpour. I'm really glad I ordered it!
I made myself an Allan
Got this Ken from the Goodwill for $1.09, their usual price in my area. I liked his face but thought he'd be better as a redhead. Midge approves.
Final of the July Top Tens
I had to put this one on early this year, but I look forward to every fall to break out PfD "Jack O' Lantern".
The orange, the flakes, the black--it's divine for Spooky Season!
Fashion haul
I spent a couple hours last night dressing these thrift store/TLC lot rescues (plus the two neutrals I just got at Ross) in some new AliExpress finds. So fun! I just shut myself away in my doll room and had at it.
The only real disappointment in the bunch was the pink velvet gown with "fur" trim, as you can see the colors don't match at all and looks nothing like the picture on the site. You win some, you lose some. It was a chance to use those hideous shoes and necklace though, because, why not.
July Top Tens
Top Tens!
I'm a day behind again, but we're almost done with July so here is my ninth post of the month.
This is not a pic from today, it's from the March of the Greens. My nails are looking bad from cleaning and crafting this weekend.
But please welcome Scofflaw "The Chia Pet Conspiracy" , an easy top ten that I'll never part with. I only wish I had a backup. 💚💚💚
All time top ten for July :) NOTD
This actually covers two polishes: a milky white gel from Born Pretty that I wear when I need a "palette cleanser", which I love so much I'm on my 3rd bottle (though they're small), and then topped with Nails Inc x Victoria Beckham "Bamboo White".
I have a backup of BW that I think I bought from the lovely Patrice on MUA. Thank you forever for that!
The color, the brush, the formula, PERFECTION. A very lightly pink-leaning plump creme I'll love forever.
Happy Wednesday!
July: All Time Top Ten
Hola, happy Saturday.
Today I have Fresh Paint "Honeydew" and I'm cheating a little by topping it with Coverband "Sticks N Stones". So I'm getting two Top Tens in one (ok ok, there will be a Top 11).
Honeydew is a beautiful green that's a little thick and isn't the greatest formula ever, but the color has put it on my Desert Island list since I got it. One of the very few I have a backup of.
SnS was from the early days of Ninja Polish and was aimed at, in a fun catty way, the Lynnderella drama of the day. There are other black and white glitter toppers but this will forever be my favorite.
Enjoy!
July All-Time Top Ten
I'm a day late this week, I'm trying to stick with Wed & Sat.
Today I have Revlon Blackberry, one of my oldest and most favorite early 2000s polishes. I loved all the brown polishes they had back then even more, but I don't have any of those left 😭
I actually pretty much finished up my original bottle of this but was lucky enough to find another at a thrift store. It never even needed thinner!
I do hate the long skinny brush but it's still a great polish. Thanks for looking!
July Top Ten! NOTD
Again, in no particular order, but this one is so great on a vacation. Which I'm sadly not on, but it gives me terrific memories of wearing it to Sanibel Island in FL.
EDK "Mahalo" is a fabulous magnetic with multichrome. I used a starburst magnet from an older Sinful. This is two coats. I actually have a backup bottle of this one because I got one in a mystery destash, and I'm really glad about it. It was a PPU polish.
My pointer finger broke all the way down for like the 4th week in a row and I'm tired of filing them all down so this is what it is this weekend. 😁
Sorry for so many pics but it's so shifty and pretty!
July theme: all time Top Ten
Hi! This brand may be cancelled due to a shady maker, but that doesn't erase my love for Radioactive Nom-Nom.
It's perfection in a bottle. Shame bc I really liked her polishes. Neon green with gold shimmer. This is three coats.
This one is probably tied with the WnW Fergie (can't recall the name right now and not at home, maybe it's Glowstick?) but this one wins for the brush.
Off to walk into work, enjoy and Happy Wednesday!
All time top ten :)
They aren't in any particular order.
Today is Pahlish "Kiddie Pool" and I usually break this one out every summer at least once.
The bottle has a little bit of Ugly Bottle Syndrome going on at the bottom, which actually makes this a pretty good algae mani. Maybe this year I'll call it "Reflecting Pool" instead.
Happy 250th, USA!
1988 Superstar Barbie rescue :)
I got this poor gal in a lot and was going to just donate her, but I like a challenge so I decided to see if I could fix up this butchered fuzz.
I washed it, then slathered it in Trader Joe's hair mask bc fabric softener wasn't working. I then combed out small sections at a time, rinsed ave combed again, let dry.
Then sectioned out the hair again with a bit of gel and rolled up in straws, hit the curls with a portable clothes steamer, and again let dry.
Unrolled, rearranged, and sprayed into place with hairspray. I'm now IN LOVE with her big 80s hair and ordered her something era-appropriate to wear. She's earned a place in my collection. ♥️♥️♥️
All-time Top Ten month--Happy July!
I'm going to aim to post my top ten polishes of all time over this month.
As I was pulling them out, I realized my tastes have changed and a couple that I would never have traded are now just Top 20.
Today I'm wearing Bees Knees Lacquer "Act of Wrath". It immediately became a favorite the first time I wore it and I've actually worn it multiple times since I got it, which says a lot when you have as many polishes as many of us do!
I even bought a backup, which I pretty much never do anymore, and this one goes on the desert island with me.
Three coats, pink with gorgeous very prominent gold-green shimmer that's blue in some angles, and in certain lights gives a more coral reddish tone.
My Midge collection 🥰
I'm a Midge die-hard fan. I don't own every Midge ever made, but I'm getting closer and closer.
But I'm also pretty cheap and most of these gals arrived or were found partially nude with fuzzy hair in need of a makeover. To me, that's half the fun!
I have a few duplicates and a couple still in box (Wedding Day and Happy Family duplicates are still in their boxes).
I've photographed them by Steffie face, by Diva face, and a couple OGs (one who arrived in very sad condition so she got a full makeover, just for fun). I do not have the Happy Family Midge that had the Teen Skipper face.
Which one is your most and least favorite? I have a lot of nostalgia for Wedding Day Midge with the stars in her eyes and her beautiful hair, but I also love the serene look of Surf City and Palm Beach Midge. California Dream with the Steffie face is cute too, as is the Chase Deluxe Style variant.
I feel bad admitting that Diva with pink eyeshadow (Real Dancing Action) and All Star Midge (softball) are... not my favorites. Lol poor dears.
Finally... I got a real Steffie!
Walk Lively Steffie, 1972
This poor gal is as old as I am but she's holding up gracefully.
Long time fan of the Steffie face, ever since I was given a Quick Curl PJ at the age of five.
I love her brown eyes! I restored her "flip" hairstyle, scrubbed her body, and got the fuzz out of her eyelashes.
I would love to some day get her her original 70s jumpsuit but I'm too cheap to pay $50+ when this doll only cost me $30.
She can enjoy this Aliexpress pool set instead. 😁
SmS NOTD
Needed a bright pick me up, today is pretty gloomy!

Funky Fingers "Kingston", best I can describe it is neon red, which is a shade surprisingly hard to find. Long skinny annoying brush but good formula for FF, which are often hard to work with.

Still, I miss those 5 Below cheap thrill shades. Not sure when last worn but I do reach for this one every now and then. Two fairly easy coats despite the brush.
A Tale of Three Midges
I'm a long-time lover of Midge. In the past week I obtained Schoolin' Around Midge with the Steffie face and Walmart Holiday 2025 with the Diva face.

I finally tonight decided to finish up the re-root and face-up of this vintage Midge, who was in bad shape when I got her. She had no lips or eyebrows and her hair was a mini Brillo pad.

This re-root was incredibly tedious. I initially planned to give her a side swirl or a flip, but I'm actually looking the long straight smooth look.
Her eyebrows aren't perfect but when I tell you this was the SIXTH ATTEMPT to get them even and not ridiculous, you'll probably forgive me if I leave them alone for now. Lol!

I went with a new green eye color and two shades of red for her hair. I am not an expert but I really like how she came out. I love all three of them. Thanks for looking!
SmS NOTD
I hope you're not all getting sick of me posting! I have an extended several days off work and have been doing my nails pretty much every day.

I found this one tucked in where it didn't belong so thought I'd go ahead and wear it. It's another example of me trying to make fetch (purple) happen on me, lol.

Sassy Sauce "Masks Mandatory, Bras Optional" PPU 12/2020, thermal with multichrome flakies and a lovely pinky-gold shimmer . I can safely say this hasn't been worn since Jan 2021, but it does still transition!
SmS NOTD
Today's Shop My Stash is BKL "An Act of Love". Inspired by some series of books or shows or something else I don't follow, but it's pretty! I think I might have got it as a mystery but I can't remember.
Never worn other than as a swatch, to my memory.
Three easy coats, has shift from green to blue to lilac plus holo.
Happy Wednesday!
