How to experience Athachamayam and Onam in Kochi as a solo traveler from Delhi

Hi, a solo traveler from Delhi, atm in Varkala. I ventured local villages of North Kerala recently, and learnt basics of Kalaripayattu in Malapuram, came to Varkala in find of a good Aashan.
I can come to Kochi for a weekend, and I really want to get the OG Onam experience! (finally living my dream)
I have heard there is an annual procession in Kochi and Thrikkakara is centre of it.

I would love to dress up with some girls with my saree ( sadly my onam saree is at home, but I bought a yellow and green cotton saree from Tamil Nadu while travelling I will get it stitched here for Onam).

Can some Kochi people give me a guide as to where to come and how to experience Onam in Kerala, make some Pookalam, and have some Onam snacks.

I will be super grateful to you!
ps, I have been to Onam gatherings in Delhi twice and every Onam I told to myself, I will experience it in Kerala someday. :) Cant wait to have inji pickle and Sadhya :D

Love to everyone!!

Aren't your grandparent feeling lonely?

So I have my Naani ji, around 70 YO. Super chirpy. We live in greater noida which doesnt really have elder people's community.

My Grandma is also a little different in thought process, with ideology she is liberal socialist haha, so she can't just talk about fasting, religious beliefs, cooking food all day long.

My Grandpa passed away 10 years back, with him, she also lost her bestfriend. Her other friends have also passed away recently. I am scared that she might not be getting older because of age, but because of loneliness. I see, she has become more silent on phone calls.

I have just completed by UG I work in China right now, later I will be working in Delhi, but can go back and forth very less often because I have long hours at work.

QUESTION 1

Do you guys know any community where my grandmom can find her own people, I can book her cab and bring her there?

QUESTION 2

How are you guys managing this for your grandparents?

with this, I am also sending a reminder to readers, please talk to your grandparents more often. Even if you tell them about the lunch you had, had too much salt in it they are gonna listen to you so patiently.

Maintaining data for shipments

Hey freight forwarding veterans.

It’s my second month in this industry now. I’m an Indian working at Chinese freight forwarding company.

Last week I completed 10 shipments, I have help of customer service and a person who coordinates with airlines.

But, I went crazy following up with them and my client.

They have 10 other shipments to handle.

QUESTION 1

How do you guys manage remembering every shipment, coordinating dates, trucking.

QUESTION 2

Do you guys fill in data and track it there ? Do you any AI tools to set reminders, bifurcate the order numbers and everything?

QUESTION 3

An Indian F/F founder told me once “automate as much as you can when it comes to daily tasks in logistics”

Do you have any suggestions for this. What functions have you automated ?

Thanks a lot ! Looking forward to hearing from you guys and hoping to get better at my job.

Freight forwarding is so cool.

I recently joined this industry, being a Chinese language expert I had to really learn things from the scratch.

But luckily being in China and getting training by my Chinese boss working in this field for decades helped so much !

Now I’m sitting with a client from Dubai completing his 1600kg urgent FIFA shipment!

Planning business with Syria as things are getting better there.

Handling shipments from China to India which could start or stop a factory.

Planning most efficient ways of getting trucking done inside China and negotiating with BSA to get better prices.

Just been few months in this industry, but learnt so much.

I didn’t even know that this industry exists earlier, but you all are doing an amazing job really !
