Rescued from a giveaway at a nursery. Gardener didn’t know what it was. Closest I could find online is a panda?

I’ve had this plant for a couple years now, and he’s always only had 3 leaves…a new one grows, and an existing leaf dies. Recently he’s down to 1 leaf. How do I make him happier?
