So i originally took the sign on bonus right after getting out of school and to put a long story short, for multiple reasons I can not stay in the position i signed for.
For anyone who has had to pay it back, were you able to do a payment plan?
So I’m like 2 months off orientation and I made my first med error. I work on a med surg floor and had a patient with a very high bp. They had a prn order for IV labetolol and so I called the doctor and discussed what was going on what told to give the prn then I go discuss it with my charge nurse because the bp isn’t going down. And she was super nice about it but basically we don’t give iv labetolol on this floor. So technically it’s a med error and I had to call the doctor back for other orders to get the bp down. The nurses on the floor helped me document it and file an incident report but like I feel like the dumbest person on the planet after the bp did come out i literally went and cried in the bathroom. How do you cope with med errors? I have been so careful trying to stick to the emar and use nursing judgment but what it that just not enough?
