Just ruined my engine by being cutting corners

Hi, I just tried to do a cam install on my K20 to try and get some more power out of it. I felt very confident going into the job as I prepared for months, but my inexperience got the better of me when I was timing the engine. I didn’t want to take off the side cover as there’s not much room, so I tried to time the motor using TDC marks on the crank pulley.

K series are interference engines, and i accidentally used the wrong timing marks to set the cam timing right. I was so sure the timing was bang on, but the car wouldn’t run for longer than 5 seconds. Realized when I went to adjust the VVT actuator that each cam was 4 teeth off that I’ve made an extremely expensive mistake. I haven’t pulled anything apart to inspect for damage, but I have a feeling some valves are damaged, and maybe even the pistons too.

Not really much of an informational post more so just a vent because I feel so stupid right now. To top it off, I pulled the chain off the head without locking my tensioner, causing it to over extend and be impossible to remove. I priced out an engine swap at $1900, which is money I don’t have as I’m a broke college student who didn’t prepare for this. Now I’m just wishing I got coilovers, and let an actual mechanic handle the engine portion. Definitely will not be attempting a job like this ever again.

Émotion CR Kiwami

Anyone run these wheels? I see they are flow formed rather than forged. How is the weight compared to a stock wheel? Any experience with cracking or bending? Considering these over stock wheels since the spec (17x9+30) is a lot more aggressive but I don’t want to spend so much on a headache

The issue with Google using AI

Im sure most of you here are aware that google ai can hallucinate, but google has historically been a place where one can find information online that is verifiable because it parses results from real people with real facts and experiences. Google using an AI to fulfill this expectation is nothing short of dangerous and packed with the potential to widespread misinformation. People in real life are already being mislead by it. Someone told me an RSX-S from 2002-2004 had a limited slip diff when Acuras own site states it doesn’t. This could potentially be a multiple thousand dollar mistake led by an ai. Most people don’t ask twice with AI so only god knows how many people are believing hallucinations out here.

Flashpro questions

Hi there I’m selling an accord flashpro with the serial number FP-ACRD-US-171620, and when I plug it into my PC it reads 2013+ Accord rather than 18-22 which I used it on. Does this mean it works on 9th gens as well? On the website the model number of the flashpro is the same for 9th gen and 10th gen but I don’t want to sell someone a flashpro that won’t work for their car. I know the 1.5t and the 2.0t are both supported by this hondata, but I just want to be 100% sure the k24 and j35 work as well. Also pm me if you’re interested in buying lol
