Mordor Macula (A spot on Pluto's moon charon) has got it's name change.

This is probably not the right sub to post it in but it's space so yeah. Also this is a repost cuz y'all thought I was a bot last time :(

Also stupid rant of a pointless naming system

The change is relatively new, February 2nd this year. It's been very under the radar from what I can tell and wikipedia didn't source anything that gives an explanation to why.

To sum it up "Mordor Macula" is unofficial but NASA uses it still cuz they still have some sense.

Also I found something on copyright here : https://www.wunc.org/2013-07-03/why-you-cant-name-new-moons-and-planets-anything-you-want

But that's stupid, cuz why wouldn't I want a place in my book be glorified in outer space. Neverland was probably chosen since the J.M. Barrie book is in the public domain.

Also there's the thing with Macula being changed to Regio. Regio means a large area with different quality then the surrounding landscape and Macula being a dark spot specifically. So in this case Macula fits, being changed to Regio is just stupid!

Also one last ranting point, the official NASA website says that "Charon names focus on the literature and mythology of exploration." Which is basically Mordor, cuz like cmon draw some parallels with the treacherous journey of a couple of hobbits in a big world working together with other creatures to reach a scary, different , and uninhabitable place to do one thing, to the journey of New Horizons. But hey! These couple of children get magic dust to simply go to the magic place which so happens to be very habitable and looks good and is just a place that looks like our world but with magic!

tl;dr: Mordor Macula is unofficial and the IAU are

Are the any other POVs of the Gassy Speech?

The sisence event was an invite only but it looked televised or at least archived.

Are there any records (other than the one on impractical jokers) of the event?

Should ghosts be visible in the careless LMS?

There is some minor talk in the dod community (a random comment on yt) about having ghosts be visible in the careless LMS.

Obviously there is some drawbacks, it would be distracting to the killer, it would add to the already cluttered LMS UI, and it would overall be a headache to see a bunch of ghosts when your trying to hit caretaker.

There are some upsides though! mainly just the increase drama and lore aspect, and it would be so cool!

Are ghosts suitable for this LMS? What changes they need to add in order for it to fit in the game and be fair to the killer? (Like lowering the ghosts opacity and disabling emotes for the duration of the LMS)

Let's hear each others thoughts!

Anyone saw that Shooting star?

Passing by the outskirts of Albequerque and saw a brilliant green ball making an equally beautiful green trail for a second until it burnt up in the atmosphere. Anyone else saw that. I'm pretty sure I was looking south.

Orion SkyScanner 100mm Table Top

It's summer that means it's prime viewing for the milky way and the messier objects within it. I am planning a trip to Utah just need some help to know if this is a good telescope to bring and see some messier objects

Missing eyepieces

I got this tasco telescope from goodwill. It sucks. The eyepieces are missing so the telescope won't work. Is using the finder scope advised for a replacement on eyepieces. Or am I really dumb?

Solving under Red Light

A fun challenge if you please. Red light can blend cube colors together really well, so solving would be pretty fun especially if you have a pastel cube or a cube with pretty similar colors.

The Red Light in this picture is from a portable camper fan with a SOS blinking Red Light feature, so it would probably be fun if you did that to.

Try out, tell me how it goes!

Why can't we make an imaginary answer for x/0

Descartes created imaginary numbers to solve the problem of getting dead-ended by square-rooting negative numbers, thus creating imaginary numbers and setting the basis of the complex plane.

So why don't mathematicians add a third axis to the plane that solves the problem of dividing by zero. Why use others like j, k, or ε?

In addition to this, which "math error" (i.e dividing by 0, arcsin(>1), formally sqrt(-x)) are chosen to get answers (like sqrt(-x) getting imaginary numbers so they can get answers)

(I am not that smart btw, so tell me gently if I said smth reeaaally wrong)

x/0 as a "z" axis in the complex plane
