Fasfa applications will come out in a few months. My mom and dad are separated and have been for almost two years. My mom makes less money than my dad but both of them don't make a lot anyway. The thing is that my dad and I have a really bad relationship and a horrible past. (Idk if he should be called a deadbeat.) He told me that I MUST label them as living together because apparently they both file their taxes as living together, which could help them get some benefits (all according to them). I am living with my mom and I feel like putting my mom as the person I am depending on will get me more aid. Ive also been wanting to make my personal statement including their separation... What do I do?

Ok so when I was a little kid (elementary school), i only had art as my hobby because it was the most fun for me and it was the cheapest to invest in for my parents. My parents got me into piano and I wasn't very interested in it. My dad got me into an art school for kids but the teacher didn't really give me any tips and my dad was like "yeah no thats not worth it" so he took me out of it. He also offered to take me to taekwondo classes but i kept saying no because i was insecure of being the only fat kid. I also kept declining new hobbies because i was very lazy and didn't really want to feel the embarrassment of not doing well at the first try, and i was getting really depressed by middle school.

In middle school, my parents only funded an afterschool program to help me with HW and to basically babysit me while they worked. I wanted to go back to taekwondo but my dad kept saying its too late for me to do taekwondo.

I tried to buy a boxing bag so that i could do boxing at home, but i accidentally got the boxing bag skin thingy. my dad was like don't get into boxing, we don't even have a place to hook up a boxing bag anyway, so i gave up on that.

I always wanted to do guitar or drums but my parents never really tried to invest in that. I'm almost seventeen now, and i'm gonna start working a part time job soon. My dad kept bugging me and it felt like he was trying to make me back down from getting a guitar by saying things like "it's too expensive, you should get professional lessons first, you can't even play here because the upstair neighbors are gonna complain, you need to learn acoustic guitar first, you dont even know what its like to work hard so how will you work at your job." and i told him "my friend plays the guitar very well and he only learned through youtube, electric guitars let you control the volume, i can save up if i work, and i don't need to learn to play the acoustic first. My mom kept defending my dad's points and it made me bummed out. I think my only choice is to just try to work as much as i can and save up as much as i can. Also, this literally happens every time i actually want to try something new. They keep nagging at me about the new things and questioning me. (not sure if its just my "teenagerness" making me annoyed about that)

I've been doing home workouts + cardio and i've been eating protein and on a healthier diet. I don't know if my workouts are effective. Only thing I try to use weights for are for leg days (I've been putting bottle of water in a bag as a weight). I dont know if i'm making progress. Lots of my friends think I'm skinny but i'm actually just 5'9 and a size L or XL but I used to be a solid medium. My gut is really bothering me, so if anyone has any work outs i should do please tell. (I am aware that a 10 minute ab workout won't help, but I want to do some core workouts, but i dont know what will be effective for that. I am also aware I need to go on a calorie deficit, which is what i've been doing.) If anybody has any nutrition tips, that would also be useful. Like I said, I'm 5'9...i weight like 157-160lbs.
