Goalie helmets, new obo design?

Hi all, I am a long time goalie, and have used the same OBO FG for about 15 years (with general maintenence/replacement parts). Idk what has changed, but i am finding it is giving me horrible headaches, so it is time to retire the old girl, shes paid her dues.

Obo is of course phasing out the old design, and since its now hurting me, im not really interested in purchasing another, but I am wondering what they new design is like. I like the integrated throat guard, but im having trouble finding any info on the interior. Whats it like in comparison to the old design? Any recommendations for another helmet?

I play high level, so high level of protection is important. Thanks!

So very beginner rider here, I have been invited to go up to Whistler in June. My bike is a cannondale trail 3 which I have put a dropper post and better pedals on, but it is of course a very entry level hardtail still. I will be sticking to the easiest of green trails as that is where my skill level is at, and I dont know if im willing to push the risk factor beyond that. Will I be fine on my bike, or should I look into renting a FS for the trip?

Also, I dont have anything beyond a helmet and bike specific glasses in terms of protective gear, what (if any) do you think is necessity to get beforehand?

Also to add, I doubt that MTB will ever be my passion sport, it will likely be a casual activity I will never progress much in as my injury risk threshold is pretty low. So I will likely stick to cruisey/flowy green trails forever, which i am having a blast on currently. With that said, is the investment in a better bike and protective gear worth it?

Thanks all :)

Edit: Thanks for the input everyone, definitely going to be renting a bike for this trip. And probably looking into investing into gear and a FS as well, even if I never move off those nice flowy greens!
