Is this a detached lens on my 13 year old chiweenie's eye?

I've called every veterinary opthalmologist in Los Angeles and unfortunately every single one is closed. I was able to track down one in Tijuana that is open today and able to see him, if necessary.

He doesn't seem to be in pain right now and overall appears to be acting normally. He's eating well, going on walks. I was warned by the local VCA that if it is a detached lens it will require surgery which may take 1 week or more to schedule. I just want to ensure the best possible care and support for him right now.

I'm seeing some incredible $506/mo lease deals right now on the eDrive. Will they last through September?

I have another three months remaining on my lease (Volkswagen Id.4) and I can't wait to turn it in for an i4 eDrive. You all have sold me!

Of course no one has a crystal ball, but I'm curious if anyone has insight into how long these extremely good lease deals are expected to last. The quotes I'm getting seem almost too good to be true. Is there an inventory surplus right now or something? Is it likely to continue through August/September? $506/mo is nearly $75/mo less than I'm paying for my albatross. (I know, I know. I have no idea what I was doing three years ago.)

Toxic Explosion Feared at Garden Grove Chemical Plant

"Mr. Covey said the tank would either fail and spill up to 7,000 gallons of toxic chemicals — a situation he called the “best-case scenario” — or it would blow up and potentially cause a chain reaction. Experts said a release of the toxic gas could produce a large fire that could be extinguished only with a special foam, not water."

What's the risk to Los Angeles if the worst case scenario happens? Should we be concerned? FWIW the winds seem to be gently blowing in Riverside's direction... https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/california/wind-flow

Someone in my local food subreddit was trying to locate a certain cake with alternating layers of sponge, raspberry jam, and what they described as an intense pistachio flavor, finished with a green mirror glaze.

My mind went first to Princess Cake, which couldn't be it, of course, because Princess Cake has a matte layer of marzipan on top, not a mirror glaze. And it traditionally doesn't have any pistachio flavoring.

But it got me thinking about marzipan itself, which you only ever see made from ground almonds. Is there a reason for that besides tradition? Could one make a log of marzipan, substituting a different tree nut instead? What would the texture be like? I know the world is currently reeling from pistachio fatigue, but as a pistachio lover, I imagine a "pistachio marzipan" would be freaking delicious.
