upcoming csm..help!!

So im 21f and im about to very quickly jump into the csm position after having horrible csm’s in the past and i decided to take the position myself since the accounts would be happier, we get more money and overall just a happier and faster pace environment for everyone. the thing is i was expecting about 2 weeks to get ready for the panel interview, but now it has changed to this friday i have the panel interview.

so my question is what did y’all do to get ready for it? what should i make sure i mention..etc?

and how do you guys stay organized? i feel like i need 6 binders or something 😭
is there anything that the psm and red shirts always be wanting the csm to do? like for example the guys that were my csms would put batteries and rotors away (til i got there then they stopped doing they’re job for some reason ..

i also am like the star of the store, not to toot my own horn but i’m gonna js give it to you straight, so im already doing everything on the floor, planos, price changes, putting the majority of stock away on truck day and the management part of fixing customer issues and then doing all of commercial alone with one driver. our red shirts barely know how to pull overstock.. so if that tells you anything about the store in general lol

with that mentioned i know most of how to operate commercial but not specifics like the LP dashboard stuff i know i should know numbers and focus 6 .. stuff but yeah

thanks in advance

moving up in az is it worth it?

so im 21f and i started autozone in late december early january this year and i skipped the red shirt stage because of my previous experience with oreillys, smyth automotive and pep boys.

i ended up learning commercial very quickly (other than like 10% that i dont know how to do). my sm has seen me be the only one to put away truck, do price changes and planos, matrix, cycle counts, run commercial and do diy all on my own; my ex coworkers weren’t shit. but commercial gets overwhelming for me because my driver and the csm are so antsy and hard headed about doing things a certain way. and then everything under the sun goes wrong all at once and i just dont wanna deal with that stress on me fr.

so with that, i dont wanna be a csm but instead my sm and dm are talking about making me a store manager in 6-7 weeks.. my thing is

  1. not the best at time management (wip)
  2. a LOT more responsibility
  3. im thinking about eventually going to school for cosmetology but i don’t necessarily wanna leave autozone high and dry yk?

im incredibly grateful that they think this highly of me, i just wanna figure out where i want my life to go while i still have time before im working 60 hours a week to please everyone.

when i started at autozone i came back to the auto parts industry because i genuinely like the work but i wasn’t for sure trying to make a just this big jump from psm to sm. so really my question is, is it really worth it for me to be this young and start training to be store manager, especially if i wanna do other areas of work as well?
