Is anyone looking for Research Experience or Leadership Opportunities at UBCO?

If you’re a student interested in general research or academia, but don't always know how to get started or find opportunities to build research skills, Youreka can help.

We’re launching Youreka Kelowna, a regional chapter of Youreka Canada, a national student-led organization focused on making research education and mentorship more accessible.

Through a mentor-guided dry-lab research program, participants learn how to read and evaluate scientific literature, analyze data, use R, communicate scientific findings, and develop their own research project alongside experienced student researchers and mentors.

The program culminates in a regional research symposium where participants present their own research posters. Top projects advance to the National Symposium alongside students from Youreka chapters across Canada and may be considered for publication in the Youreka Journal.

We're currently looking for:
• First-year students interested in learning about research from experienced mentors
• Upper-year students interested in Research Lead and executive positions
